Phat Loot Phriday: Insanity's Grip
Name: Insanity's Grip (Wowhead, WoWDB, Thottbot)
Type: Epic Main Hand Fist Weapon
Damage/Speed: 372 - 558 / 2.60 (178.8 DPS)
Attributes:
- +52 Agility, +51 Stamina
- +1736 Feral attack power, if you're of the feral persuasion
- Improves crit strike rating by 34, expertise by 25, and attack power by 80
- As you probably can already tell, this one's made for a Rogue or an Enhancement Shaman -- though of course your results may differ as always, depending on what kinds of content the folks in your guild have done.
- One weird thing with this one: enchants don't show up on it. Probably a problem of how they'd appear rather than an actual bug.
- And of course the "Insanity's Grip" reference is likely about what's happening in Ulduar. But then again, the weapon itself is called "Insanity's Grip," so instead of being gripped by Insanity, you're actually gripping Insanity's Grip. Confusing much?
Getting Rid of It: Sells to vendors for 22g 75s 98c, and disenchants into an Abyss Crystal, as you'd expect.

I'm more of a Caturday man myself.

Some how "fists" doesn't quite seem right.
And don't even talk about "Fisters", that's a totally different thing all together.

"Grabby stabby weapons" works for me :D

My mind goes into dirty mode every time I read the tool tip of one of these weapons.

Wow a post by Schramm that isn't useless.

Hi Mom! :)

Ha! Well played, Mr. Schramm. Well played.

They should just change it to claw weapons or something.
Riley Sep 12th 2009 8:17PM
the problem is they aren't all claws, a lot are just big blunt objects

A small request. Could we possibly see a wider variety of gear? Not just from TOC or Ulduar but more old world epics from pre-bc raids. Maybe even a few blues that were great for leveling. Heck, even the epic hunter bow/staff, Anathema or Atiesh.
Weapons that people could go for before they become a thing of the past like Atiesh. Just a thought.

Then it would be "Phat Loot Phriday: Loots Phrom the Phast", right?
Although I prefer "Phat Loot Phriday: Loots to the Phast" (because I'm also a bit of a Legend of Zelda geek).
Come to think of it phast doesn't even sound right, it's brilliant!

yeah agreed on some older equips.
I haven't even hit 70 yet, so while its nice to get a glimpse week after week at all those shiny purples I'm missing out on, a old world blue now and then would rock my world.

Only slightly related, but why do they put Feral Attack Power on weapons that cannot be wielded by Druids? Is it just auto-generated from the item's iLevel or something like that?
lockanon Sep 13th 2009 1:49AM
IDK....But my bet would be because Druids CAN wield fist weapons....
Just shooting in the dark here....
brammage Sep 13th 2009 9:19AM
Yeah, yeah, Mr. Smartypants. But they can't dual-wield, making all 1H weapons useless to ferals. And there is always Feral Attack Power on weapons like two-handed swords which are not wieldable by Druids at all.
Question stands.
PeeWee Sep 13th 2009 7:35PM
Reply stands, druids can still wield fist weapons, whether they are useless for them or not.
Dzur Sep 13th 2009 12:13PM
Mike, seriously. Quit posting feral attack power on weapons that not even a total noob feral would equip. The Staff from freaking HVH is better than that fist weapon.
