It's that time of year again -- I just saw a seasonal costume store opening up near my apartment here in Chicago, and that means that we're almost to October, when all kinds of official and unofficial Halloween costumes from all of the year's biggest brands appear. Last year we had
some Orc masks and old-school armor and gear (and we may see some of that stuff again this year), but so far the only new thing we've seen is
these latex ears, in Night Elf
and Blood Elf style, over on Amazon. For just $12, you too can have inordinately large pointy ears, signifying that you're a magical creature from Azeroth.
Cheesy? Maybe so, but then again, that's pretty much what dressing up on Halloween is all about these days. If you happen to see any other
Warcraft-related costumes during the season (either officially licensed by Blizzard or knocked-off by some shady costume designer), make sure to take a picture and
send us a tip. And of course if you enjoy seeing real people dress up as fictional
Warcraft characters, you'll love
our pictures from BlizzCon. Enjoy.

Granted those look better than some of the "home-made" jobs I've seen...they still look pretty ridiculous and stupid IMO :(

The night elf model is perfect but the guy they got for the blood elf just creeps me out
Squirr3llywrath9 Sep 12th 2009 6:28PM
Seriously. He looks like a caveman with hair extentions.
CallMeIrd Sep 12th 2009 6:44PM
Seriously, they couldn't have gotten a hot guy? Us ladies like something to look at, too!
Kylenne Sep 12th 2009 6:52PM
He looks like Silvermoon Harry in the pirate camp in Howling Fjord.
JamieG Sep 12th 2009 8:13PM
@CallMeIrd
I can send you some pics if you want?
bughunter Sep 13th 2009 11:22AM
He looks like Gary Busey in a wig.
Suzaku Sep 12th 2009 6:35PM
I saw these posted on Kotaku months ago. Or last year.
My point is, it was a really long time ago.
GEK Sep 13th 2009 8:59AM
you are so special! I will email you if i ever find something on the internet, since the fact that you have seen something makes it worthy of posting
Kerberos Sep 13th 2009 1:16PM
In the original article it was said this was new, but in fact came out with the other items last year, which is what the above poster was trying to say. Same pictures on the package and on the official WoW site announcement (link) when the masks were released. Here's the link to the sellers website...

They DO have a new Illidian and Draenei mask out this year

/facepalm

I love to play WoW, but quite frankly you'd have to pay me to wear that on Halloween. I'd rather go as a telly tubby as at least it has a retarded, "HAHA, that's an adult in a telly tubby costume", thing going for it.
ROB13 Sep 12th 2009 6:52PM
Now you can hear people calling you a nerd for buying Elf Ears.
Wensbane Sep 12th 2009 7:13PM
That's the single most disturbing thing I've seen all year. Seriously...
Sarakin Sep 12th 2009 8:15PM
agreed
Anaughtybear Sep 12th 2009 8:44PM
I hate all elves, so I'd like to take this opportunity to say...
NERRRRRRDS
Ras Gonzo Sep 12th 2009 9:35PM
AWESOME! Blizzard hired GARY BUSEY as a NightElf!! I wonder what roll he will play in the WoW movie? :P
Eddy Sep 12th 2009 11:16PM
I personally really liked http://www.aradanicostumes.com/elfears.php . I got the J ears for Blizzcon 2007 and they were really great.
apoxic Sep 12th 2009 11:27PM
Calling people nerds on a blog about a video game makes me feel good about myself.
JLocke Sep 12th 2009 11:50PM
that Blood Elf female in the second picture below creeps me out....
