WoW Moviewatch: Worgen of Stormwind
One of my joys about this job is that I get to watch machinima and WoW movies alongside my beloved Draenei fiancee. It's part of our daily routine, and it's a great thing to do together. It definitely helps supplement my machinima knowledge, though, because she's much more a music geek than I am.
When I played Baka Savant and Wicked Wood's Worgen of Stormwind for the first time, she completely and utterly fell in love with it. She kept saying how musically intelligent it was, and how smart the creator was in handling the complexities of the original song.
Me? I just totally geeked out to the idea of Worgen running rampant in the Alliance capital city. The video and the song are both incredibly fun, and I think the clean, sharp animation style lets you enjoy the music even while geeking out to the Worgen.
Of course, we're all hoping that the video gets updated when playable Worgen hit the scene. But until then, aaaawooooooo! Worgen in Stormwind!

That was amazing. I completely agree that it was musically superb and the video was so well put together that it had me "aaaawooooooo!" right along and itching for that Xpack to hurry its hairy arse up =). Btw, Go Girls in Wow =D

Also keep an eye out in the video for the cameos of Ellers, Guy and the others from BakaSavant's "Chronicles of Annoying Quest" which is in its final season :)

Varian dancing near the end as priceless.
Very well done. The singer was dead-on. Ah, no pun intended.

Excellent video. And I love the throwaway line about your Draenei fiance.

I see you mention the "original song" - but! Did it occur to you that not everyone would immediately know what you're talking about?
The More You Know.
For those of you wondering, as I did, what the original song might be, it's apparently based on "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon. This info gleaned from the YouTube page.
Yes, I get it you feel smart when you get a reference and don't let people in on it, but... coyness is not a great quality in a blog post aimed at a mainstream community (inasmuch as wow.com is really aimed at the general wow-playing public).
Being coy about references and refusing to link to the original source (quite often when it's a "Ghostcrawler said such-and-such on a form [conspicuous absence of link]") are the only criticisms I really have of WoW.com in general, though. Otherwise a great site, very informative and with some excellent writing in general. If that's the most I have to complain about (and I have to admit it's a petty but niggling peeve)... not bad!

I'm glad someone made this, I already mentally made Werewolves of London the official Worgen theme song for myself the moment I saw the concept pictures of Gilneas. Blizz was just asking for it when they picked the art style they did.

Hee hee! 'Worgen Zevon'! I love it! XD
What a fun rendition of 'Werewolves of London!' I remember my Dad showing me this song when I was little! The artist did a great job with this one! :D
