Early in levelling, my friends and I were in Ashenvale when some human mage with a skull instead of his level indicator showed up out of nowhere and ganked us. We knew it was a PVP server, but this was our first experience with what that really meant. We tried to rez and continue killing furbolgs or whatever, but he stuck around and killed us again!I switched TeamSpeak channels and called in help from another friend, the one who'd pulled us all into this game (working on levelling his warrior, then at l55). He dropped what he was doing and came over, told us to wait to rez until he said so.He managed to get the drop on the l60 mage, zooming in from behind some trees, and yelled "Now, while he's busy! Hit him with something and then run like hell!"I doubt our feeble attempts at DOTs helped much, but the mage dropped and our warrior friend came running after us. As I healed him up, he was excited that he'd managed to take the jerk out but told us to leave the area for a while; the mage would be out for revenge. Not a very epic story, but it was a fun bit of teamwork and really brought home the idea that yes, we could get ganked anywhere - but we could also call in help from across the world.
