Way back in the early days of vanilla WoW, my roommate and I were going through the early content as a warrior-paladin duo. Not the most efficient of parties, I know. But valuable for some great hilarity as we learned about the details of the game.
The greatest moment was when questing in the Thelsamar area around level 13 or so, we wandered over into the Badlands, where everything had a skull for level. Realizing that this was a bad place to be, we immediately turned around and tried to high-tail it back for safe harbor.
On the way, we managed to aggro a coyote. It goes after my paladin roommate, who uses the great skill of Bubble-Hearthing, while I'm jamming on my Hearthstone hotkey as fast as I can.
The coyote turns and starts running for me as I'm watching the Hearthstone animation continue, shouting out loud "Come on! Come on! Hearth, dammit!"
WHOOSH! The coyote leaps just as the Hearthstone activates, and I appear in the tavern in Ironforge.
Right in front of a hunter with a coyote pet of the exact same model.
The literal real-life scream of surprise was epic. "IT FOLLOWED ME THROUGH!!!"
Yeah, some moments you never live down.
