I remember back in Vanilla while playing my first ever toon (a human Warrior) I grouped with 4 others to take on the Deadmines (my first ever instance).
After completion, one of the party asked if we wanted to run to Booty Bay. "Booty Bay? Where on Earth is that?", I thought to myself. To that point my whole WOW experience had been Elwynn Forest and Westfall and I had no concept of the vast lands that lay ahead of me.
After climbing the mountains in Westfall and jumping into the river, I had arrived in Stranglethorn! To cut a long and epic journey short, my band of fellow adventurers were joined by a level 60 and we all treked for what seemed like forever down the long road to Booty Bay. Everything within a five mile radius seemed to aggro us, but our escort level 60 kept us safe.
I was amazed by the scenery, the creatures and the vastness of Stranglethorn, and it was only then that I realised I had entered an epic and rich gaming world like no other.
That's my "moment".
