WoW Moviewatch: The Orchard
We first talked about the BitFilm Festival 2009 Machinima contest when we featured La Terroriste last week. With the clock running out on the time for votes, I wanted to mention another machinima entry for this year's contest. The Orchard is a horror-genre movie from Dan Ross (otherwise known as Lafawnduh). Dan is the same creator who filmed The Ultimate Snowdown.
The Orchard is an incredibly well-crafted movie that is deeply steeped in its own genre and moody atmosphere. I particularly enjoy how the story is tied up without an obvious, author-determined morality applied to Margaret. The video is well worth the time, and Dan should be applauded for his artwork.
Ultimately, I wish good luck to La Terroriste, World of Workcraft, and The Orchard in the BitFilm contest. While WoW.com obviously has no stake in the contest, I think all three would be worthy winners. Good luck, folks!

Wow! I'm totally speechless.
Very very well done.
The first half reminded me alot of Alone in the dark / Resident evil, the camera angles and atmosphere were top notch.
The ending was....wow I'm still getting over how great it was, Very M.Night Shyamalan.
Very well done 10/10

This reminds me of the movie "Secret window" or something (the one with johnny depp)...
The end, where he's eating the corn...

Good video, yeah, but it's becoming increasingly obvious that Michael doesn't know how to use his own site's search engine and suffers from long-term memory loss. This is the second time this month, and the fourth time this year that he's featuring something that he featured before.

This was the first machinima I ever saw.
Its true this has been featured on WOWMW before, but remember that the author of this column has changed about five times this year, so don't take it so hard on the new guy.

Yeah...a nice video and somewhat timely since Brewfest is approaching, but it's definitely a repeat.

From 3:30 - 3:55, is that the same music used in the SAW movies? Awsome choice, it sounded great there.

haha! That was fun. My thoughts are along the same lines as Tom (1st poster).
Thanks!

I liked the video a lot, even though that idea was taken directly from the movie, "The Window" lol. Oh and apples instead of corn!

There is/was someone by the name of "Lafawnduh" on Moon Guard who walks around spouting negative stereotypes of African American women. This can't possibly be the same guy, can it?
