In-game fixes for Tuesday September 22nd

While Patch 3.2.2 has been released today, there are still a good number of additional in-game fixes that were applied after the patch went live. Those fixes are all detailed after the break.
However, one thing that hasn't been talked about yet by Blizzard officially, but WoW.com can confirm through tests done by staff members, is that AV now has a 70 to 79 bracket, and an 80 bracket. In addition XP gains in AV have been cut in half for those earning XP in the 70 to 79 bracket. Where objectives used to give around 18k XP, they now only give 9k XP.
Again, there has been no official word from Blizzard on this yet, but we're expecting them to say something anytime now.
The full list of official in-game fixes after the break.
Update 9:00 p.m. EDT: Bornakk has since confirmed the AV changes.

In-game fixes for September 22nd:
- The Faction Champions encounter in the normal 10-player and normal 25-player Trial of the Crusader instances have had a number of spells and abilities altered which should result in less overall damage.
- The Anub'arak encounter has been changed on all difficulties. Anub'arak now attacks faster, the Nerubian Burrowers should hit a little harder, and their Expose Weakness ability now caps at 9 stacks.
- Some season 7 arena weapons will now have a socket.
- Threat of Thassarian will now properly halve the damage of Rune Strike for the off-hand strike.
- Soulstone Resurrection now fades upon entering raid combat if the character who cast it is not present.
- The Idle/Inactive debuff is now cleared upon round switches in Strand of the Ancients.
- The Mistress of Pain will now target more accurately in the 25 man Heroic Jaraxxus encounter.
- The damage of Hunter's Volley ability has been increased.
"The AP coefficient of Volley has been increased from 0.0586 to 0.0837. Base points did not change. This probably did not make the patch notes."

Well I only had two days to enjoy leveling my priest through AV, but at least I had some form of break from questing, The worst part of all this is going back to shadow, since I was loving disc... at least my friends have me going disc heals come 80 :).

so level mostly in AV, head to northrend for cooking/fishing dailies (maybe the wyrmrest and kalu'ak ones, if you're at all interested in that rep). heal a few group quests (disc priest + any DK in frost, paladin in RF can probably duo anything), maybe a dungeon or two when those pop up for the always great experience from dungeon quests.
i understand that AV leveling was once the best thing under the sun, but just because it is half as good doesn't mean it isn't a fun and practical way to level, or at least a strong component of a broader leveling strategy.

also, don't go to shadow. try holy fire lolsmite for leveling. the rotation is more fun (boom > dotdotdotdotdot), plus it allows you to heal without giving up your ability to deal damage. something like this: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#bVcbuhhiR0oZcxtzcbVbZh:ui really is quite solid for leveling due to the newish glyph of smite.

Why is it that when I read about the XP gain being so wonderful for leveling players, then see here that it has been nerfed? Was it something we were expecting and hoping it didn't change? And also, heard from the same article that people at level 80 wanted a separate AV from 71-79. Is it just me, or are we all just that good at predicting what will happen?

I suspect that it was a little too good in AV. From what I had heard, AV was rewarding far more XP then any of the other battlegrounds.
The extra bracket is a really good idea, IMO, and helps both the 80s and the non-80s alike. People leveling their characters don't have epic'd out 80s one-shotting them, and the 80s don't have green lowbies gumming up the works.

woot volley buff..........

Harsh hit on the AV changes...shame too as that was one of the coolest things to happen in wow in a long time. Thankfully, I was able to get one toon from 70-80 via this but sadly my druid/warrior will probably sit at 74 forever. I really don't feel the need to run the zones a 4th, 5th, and 6th time.
However, one upside of this is that you're 100% guaranteed to have a full set of epix pvp gear once you hit 80. (since you were easily able to get 4 with the 18k xp gains)

And this is exactly why I will be giving up on leveling the alts :(
mike Sep 22nd 2009 5:22PM
I agree, its disappointing, especially since I had just got my druid to 71.
Craig R Sep 22nd 2009 5:12PM
welp, there's confirmation on the soulstone usage subject, not that this should come as much of a surprise to anyone.
Freak Mojo Sep 22nd 2009 5:15PM
Damn... so much for trying to get my hunter some AV leveling love. That sucks. Oh well... I'm trying to give up WoW anyway :P
tonedeff Sep 22nd 2009 6:24PM
Please dont quit or we will be ALL be forced to not give a shit
ZombiePaul Sep 22nd 2009 5:21PM
The 80 bracket is a good thing, however the xp nerf just kills me. Like others have said: I have to desire to run a toon through the same zones for the 5th-6th time. It gets old, no matter how fun is was the first few times and I can see this time eating change almost kill WoW for me (it saved it when it was introduced).
Xiol Sep 22nd 2009 5:42PM
So you don't want to run a toon thru the same zones, but running AV over and over and over some how is more appealing?
Dude, you're weird. :P

People in AV react differently in each time , you never know what your oponent will pull out of his bag of tricks, When you kill mobs for a quest and conme back to do on the next toon, its not like the NPC is gonna try somthing different..... doesn't sound wierd at all
Rob Sep 22nd 2009 5:34PM
Very disapponting on the AV nerf. It worked out to be somewhat slower than just questing, so its not like it was speeding it up much (at least for me - we ended up losing about half the games). Like you all, my last alt at 74 will probably just rot.

It's better than nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf (various paladin and DK balancing)...
Just remember it can always be worse =)
PodPeople Sep 22nd 2009 6:08PM
that might be a good generalization for how it works for WoW, and likely most other MMOs, unless you play a pally, then it's more like nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, uhhh nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, wait for it...Buff! {holy cow how did that get in there}, NERF!! to the ground.
Clbull Sep 22nd 2009 7:37PM
@t0xic
Its more like "nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf (rebalancing Hunters, even though they weren't OP in the first place)
Something which I am quite annoyed about because most classes can often close down and burst hunters with ease in Arena, and yet they get nerfed even more.
