This past week,
SwagDog (sponsor for
our Guild of the Month contest) released their newest custom t-shirt design: The Guild Icon shirt. Whereas their Guild Tabard design is a little busy (with your muscled nerd chest being graced with a guild standard of sorts), their new design is more simplistic in comparison. Your guild icon is front and center, laid atop your faction's icon. Your character's name, race, class and server are listed in white at the bottom, and your guild name across the top. If you so choose, it looks like you have the option to leave your guild and character name blank if you really want the icon to pop. The icon itself has a really cool stone texture to it, like it's been carved out. You can check out a close-up sample of that behind the cut below. This is honestly much closer to my ideal guild t-shirt than anything I've seen yet. The simple design just seems
better to me.
If you agree, you're in luck! For the next 48 hours, SwagDog and WoW.com are giving you 15% off your purchase if you use the coupon code
wowicon15 at checkout. Even if this is something you normally wouldn't wear, you could consider it preparation for BlizzCon 2010. No, they haven't officially announced it, but you just know it's going to happen. Plus, from the picture up above it looks like these shirts have magic powers and put the wearer into a state of rapture and/or nirvana. That's pretty cool. I'd take 15% off of nirvana.

These are pretty nice looking, I just wish that you had the option of selecting different colour schemes instead of the grey. Still, it's definitely a good simple design that works well on a shirt.

Did they seriously just misspell "deathknight" on that chicks top on their web page?
Elearen Sep 22nd 2009 10:51PM
Yes yes they did.
We can see what they're in it for.
emberwild Sep 22nd 2009 12:17PM
Go Deathnights!
Jagoex Sep 22nd 2009 12:55PM
Here's to hoping that they spelled Knight Elf correctly... O.o
And what of all of this "bimbo" talk? Yes, the blonde may look like she's enjoying wearing that shirt a little too much, but that isn't her fault. She took a job, and that job is to do whatever the pervert photographer tells her to do.

I'm not going to buy something being advertised with some blonde bimbo. Thanks but no thanks.
joerendous Sep 22nd 2009 12:10PM
I, on the other hand, will.
Tigs Sep 22nd 2009 12:19PM
And, I just did.
And really who are you to judge the woman a bimbo just because she is young, blond an pretty? People like you with your harsh snap judgements are far more offensive than any "bimbo".
Anna Sep 22nd 2009 12:34PM
the shirt is not being advertised by the blonde woman. swagdog is the advertiser. the blonde woman is simply a model that swagdog hired because she is blonde and pretty. she makes the shirt look good, which increases sales. it's basic marketing theory and it works.

What's wrong with being blonde???
I'm blonde!
kittytrainer Sep 22nd 2009 12:58PM
Yes, but are you a bimbo? That is the question.
Sarakin Sep 22nd 2009 12:45PM
guess you're a bimbo sorry thebvp but that's the new logic
Brigitte Sep 22nd 2009 12:50PM
Nothing says "Hi guys, I'm only here for some spare cash while I look for a real acting job I may never get, but don't get your hopes up anyway, because no matter how much they pay me it's not enough to get in the sack with you." like a hot chick wearing a gamer t-shirt in advertising.
thebvp Sep 22nd 2009 1:07PM
But but but... I don't wanna be a bimbo! I can't help it if I'm blonde! Help!!!
Quick, maybe if I make myself look as ugly as possible and put on 60 or so pounds, will that un-bimbify me? Or am I just S.O.L.?
censorman Sep 22nd 2009 1:28PM
YES! Horde get the slutty hot one.
Urza Sep 22nd 2009 1:30PM
I'd tap that.
Gazmik Fizzwidget Sep 22nd 2009 1:41PM
Imitates the design of an in-game tabard, but comes only in gray on black? Fail.
eROKv Sep 22nd 2009 1:42PM
the font/weight for the variable text is pretty weak. i think i like the old design alot better.
and what is the deal with the blonde bimbo guy? could you imagine a world where ugly people tried to sell you stuff? ACK!
Evi Sep 22nd 2009 1:47PM
These are surprisingly attractive. The other customizable WoW shirts I've seen have been far too busy. I like the simple color scheme with these.
Arbitor Sep 22nd 2009 2:05PM
You've gotta wonder if they put the hot blonde model (Blondes united, go go go! :D ) next to the *Ahem* older model just to hammer in how hot she is.
