WoW Moviewatch: Ulduar: The Movie 2/3
Atraira has released the second installment of Ulduar: The Movie. Like the first episode, Ulduar: The Movie 2/3 features a sprawling series of fights. Each moment illustrates a fundamental experience in Ulduar.
What I enjoy most about Atraira's series is that these movies do such a wonderful job conveying the vital themes and core of Ulduar itself. While I won't say watching these movies is just as good as actually going on the raids, Atraira is doing a lot to "brige the gap" between people who have gone to Ulduar, and people who can't actually attend the raids. Atraira is keeping that second group of folks in the loop, so that they don't miss out on the lore and fun-to-watch boss fights.
Atraira's soundtrack continues to be well chosen for each fight. This quality of work is incredibly awesome. I can't wait to see the final episode.

"We stand now before the antechamber of Ulduar, no mortal has ever set foot beyond its gates" first line of the movie and there is an error.
Brann Bronzebeard actually set foot beyond the gates as can be seen in the Ulduar cinematic.

He doesn't, he has only went through the 'siege of ulduar' area, he did not go inside.

Oh.. sorry, I stand corrected. I checked out the movie again and it indeed shows him getting scared away by Kologarn..
*shame*

I agree with you, I enjoy her movies as they tell the stories behind the raids, while most guild raid videos are laced with techno music and UIs up the wazoo. Plus Im a huge fan of dramatic music scores, so it only makes the video that much epic!

Epic :D
Can't wait for the finale!

These are so well done! Just an excellent job of taking these epic fights and making them cinematic, just an amazing work!

Ulduar is truly one of the more epic raids Blizzard have done.

It's alright. However there is better work out there in terms of quality when filming the fights, camera angles, and editing.
The most obvious example would be this one: http://warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=118569
The camera work, editing, and overall quality isn't comparable. However it's just fights and no dialogue or anything. Probably why you never featured it?
Oh, and Jack's ulduar movie comes out in like 2 days and that will trump everything.

Ugh. Brann.
Horde might hate Garrosh more but I think Alliance doesn't have a more annoying character than Brann.
Falcon6 Sep 28th 2009 12:45PM
Are you kidding me? Brann is badass.
He tried to take on Kologarn SOLO. He failed, sure, but the fact that he tried it shows quite a large level of badass if I do say so myself.
Eddy Sep 28th 2009 12:49PM
I have cross-faction love for Brann. He's my hunter's absolute hero and when he got mail from Brann with the Explorer Tabard it totally made his day.
zuldim Sep 28th 2009 1:15PM
Agreed Eddy, Brann is absolutely epic.

The man’s got an airplane and a fedora. What’s not to love?
Overall, the whole bronzebeard family is pretty badass.
JLocke Sep 28th 2009 12:42PM
In my opinion Brann is pretty cool, uncovering the mysteries of Azeroth, accidently uncovering ancient evils and sounds like hes a heavy drinker like most dwarves! Whats Garrosh got going for him? :)

Quick question...in the flyover at the beginning did anyone else notices that the characters are wielding a lot of Pre-BC weapons? Benediction?? Thunderfury??
Huulo Sep 28th 2009 1:24PM
Atraira your videos are beautiful and amazing. PLEASE keep making them and make a series for Icecrown Citadel when it comes out. For some of us, this is as close as we'll get to experiencing some of the encounters, especially the hard modes.
Simon Sep 28th 2009 1:30PM
That. Was. Awesome!!!
I don't raid on any of my characters, but that made me want to. Good, good, good job. :)
Drow Sep 28th 2009 2:31PM
Like it, just like before, but the lack of hard modes (or at least being obvious) just kind of shy's me away. I noticed FL hard mode, and Thorim, XT can't tell, Hodir they could have shown the cashe, and Mim and Freya were not. We need our grand Algalon final! And we've seen the rusted proto, we KNOW you can do the hard modes...that would make this top shelf!
damn_oregonian Sep 28th 2009 3:53PM
You try doing Firefighter with your UI turned off. :P I admit it would've been cool as hell if they had pulled it off, but I definitely can understand why they took that route instead. Here's to them using multiple weeks worth of raids for this project so we do in fact see Algalon!
Cybeloras Sep 28th 2009 5:53PM
freya was hardmode, as you can see much of the trash is still alive
