this guy is bang on the money in relation to the problems related to phasing.ive been trying to say the same thing for ages (in forums and such) but not as eloquently and always get shouted down by fanbois who prattle on about it being purely some kind of super awesome game mechanic without any possible downside.

Phasing certainly has its problems, especially in Icecrown. However it's not true that you get "stuck" on group quests that others can't help you with. All phasing quests are single-player, this was a very deliberate design decision to avoid exactly this issue. There are still annoying situations that can crop up but if you need help with group quests it's always possible (though perhaps annoying) to solo-quest to the same phase.
