Try getting good customer service from any PC manufacturer nowadays! each year that goes by customer service gets worse everywhere!So you are better off building your own and being your own customer service.They don't even give you your OS cd's anymore, they make you pay 15~20 extra dollars to have your disks! This is lame especially if you want to wipe and reload. A CD or DVD costs maybe 35 cents to manufacture and their charging you $15~$20 for it. Also if you have a real technical problem beyond reinstalling a driver; Good Luck! you will be on the phone for hours!If you are absolutely not technically inclined I would recommend buying. I understand both sides of the argument, but the customer service from most PC manufacturers is nothing great. They simply don't care!!!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I had a problem with a computer I recently ended up returning (the cheaper Gateway FX). I called customer service, said that my computer had been displaying vertical lines at times, and crashing a lot, sometimes not turning back on and unable to play games, I told them I'd updated the drivers and rolled them back a couple times. They told me to update the drivers. So I did. Didn't work. Then they said to wipe and reload. So I did. That didn't work. I sent it in. They replaced the processor (problem was pretty obviously video-card related). I called them again. I thought it might be a power supply problem through more trouble shooting and problem solving. They made me reinstall the graphics drivers. Didn't work (duh!). Then they said it might be a graphics card problem (note: graphics card was installed correctly, and the escalated problems really strongly pointed to power supply). I took it back to the retailer, they said it was a motherboard problem, and gave me a new computer.Though, most computers come with a partitioned harddrive (if you get them pre-built) with all the stuff you'd get on backup disks on the partition, and they usually have a recovery disk making utility with them. You shouldn't have to pay extra for the disks, so long as you have a few CD's or a couple DVDs laying around.
