Blizzard announces official YouTube channel

Whoever's in charge of social media over at Blizzard has really been working it lately -- we can't wait to see their Last.fm account (Most Played: the artists formerly known as Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain) or their OkCupid account (Adam Holisky & Alex Ziebart would be at least 87% friends with Ghostcrawler, no question). Definitely fun to see Blizzard, historically a very closed-door company, opening up a little bit to the various outlets where they can correspond with fans.

They have also extended brewfest till October 5th for those that do not know yet, a blue post made an announcement about it over on the general forums.

I'm really hoping that they post some high-quality cinematics from the original 3 Warcraft games, so people who didn't play them can see the Lore.

@ shikozu,
They are already on youtube fyi. Just search wc3 cinematics or soemthin like that... they are all there.
Also, "story of arthas" on youtube takes you through wc3 and TFT with every cinematic and ingame lore scence relating to arthas rise and fall. Might be a bit long thought if you're only interested in cinematics, since it contains in game dialog.

I second that Shikozu, I didn't jump on the Warcraft bandwagon til WC3, heard 2 had some pretty awesome cutscenes

I never played the original Orcs & Humans, but Warcraft II had some awesome cinematics and still do, considering the technology today. You can get an idea of the opening cinematic by watching War3's credits. They replay it using the War3 game engine, though it's no substitute for the original.

That would explain why the hammer came down on that guy that had all the WC3 cutscenes posted in order. I just hope Blizzard decides to replicate that.

Until it was shut down, I thought BlizzardCinematics *was* an official YouTube account. I second what you said about the Warcraft cut scenes ~ I sure hope Blizzard puts them back up in chronological order! They were an excellent resource for anyone interested in World lore who (like me) has never played the original games.

Hehe, I thought that guy was official also for the longest time. Hell, his playlists were helpful even if you had played the games. I've played WC3 more times than I can count, but honestly, sometimes I just wanted to see a particular scene for reference purposes, and digging out my game discs, hoping I remember what mission a scene happened in and then having to play through it just for one thing is a pain.

About time. Even my company has its own YouTube page. Kudos to Blizzard though, now there's a central repository for their videos.

Is that just me, or is the guy in the Marine suit under the Blood Elf Paladin... Jim Raynor? What the heck is HE doing in a Marine suit?
rexicon1 Oct 1st 2009 3:46AM
Duder, Jimmy was the O-G marine.

Why don't you ask Sacco about HIS OKCupid profile? I'm sure he'd love to tell you all about it.
Raze Oct 1st 2009 1:48AM
Anyone else notice that whenever Blizzard is advertising WoW they almost always use that Blood Elf paladin chick?
It's a damn good thing I started playing before TBC, otherwise I'd assume the game was stereotypical T & A cookie cutter fantasy fare and go on about my business.
Oh wait....
