Patch 3.3 PTR: Character copy is up, but not so fast

A few readers have reported in to say that character copies are currently up for what we presume to be the patch 3.3 PTR (not that surprising, considering that Blizzard has been forthcoming with Icecrown info today), but before you go running over to send your character racing to meet Arthas, don't forget that usually in this situation, character copies get wiped before the PTR goes up anyway. You can try a copy, but don't be surprised if, when the realm finally does go up and Blizzard is ready, you have to do it again.
That said, this is a pretty good sign that the PTR is just around the corner -- Blizzard's got the content in a workable state, and they're just about ready to let us have a look at it and run it through the ringer for them. Icecrown or bust!

Thanks, Low!

@Romilin
Yes but technically Onyxia could be considered a content patch, since we did get a "new" raid. Even if it was a rehashed one, it was more content then we normally see on a x.x.x style patch

Except for the quote of "Let's talk about Icecrown raid in 3.3" made by Daelo at Blizzcon'09.
Knob Sep 30th 2009 4:56PM
Should have added in the Raids and Dungeons panel.
SaintStryfe Sep 30th 2009 4:58PM
no. they're going to put in both - the 3 5 man wings and the 10/25 man dungeons
that's been the plan as long as Wrath's been around.
Falcom Sep 30th 2009 7:29PM
That seems quite likely, or else we are in for a long wait until cataclysm is released with no content. Unless cataclysm is much farther along in development than I expect it is.

Actually, I believe Blizz has said that 3.3 would be the last major content patch before 4.0
Arashikou Oct 1st 2009 1:42AM
Correct. There was, back around WotLK launch, a tentative schedule that had a 3.4 as the last patch, with Icecrown in 3.4, but Blizz has been off that schedule for a while now. Last they said was that Icecrown 5-man and raid are in 3.3 and this will be the last content patch before Cataclysm.

I just hope that PvP will ACTUALLY be balanced in this patch.

3.3 Patch Notes
- PVP will now be vehicle-based. Each character will get a mech exoskeleton to pilot and the mechs will each have 3 skills: Jan, Ken, and Pon.

There, I balanced PVP. Can I have GC's job and yacht now?

So can we all lol and yell about Blizzard catering to casuals by offering 219 and 232 loot from normals and heroic 5 mans now so we can get that out of the way?
jbodar Sep 30th 2009 6:48PM
Not to mention, fighting Arthas in a 5-man. ZOMGWTFBBQ!!!
theRaptor Sep 30th 2009 7:27PM
Can we all stop bringing up the topic even though in the last thread hardly anyone actually complained? Or even really complained originally except the retards on the WoW forums who even if Blizzard fulfilled their every whim would complain that Blizz was too slow. Oh I forgot this is the WoW community it thrives on creating artificial DRAMA DRAMAS!

I'm surprised (and also not surprised) to see the PTR show signs of appearing this soon after 3.2.2. Due to the 5th Anniversary pet being in 3.2.2, we can (safely) assume 3.3.0 will hit live at or after the... What, 23rd of November? My money is on the start of December, but certainly pre-Christmas/Hanukkah/Religious Festival, which lines us up for Cataclysm in the first 4-5 months of 2010. Maybe 4.0 will hit as early as Feburary, although I would be surprised to see it THAT early.
Of course, we'll just have to wait and see. But yeah, November/December is what seems more than likely with the information we've been given. You never know, PTR might be up for a month and not 2/3.
existant0o0 Sep 30th 2009 6:57PM
Icecrown already? But I'm not prepared yet!
Eternauta Sep 30th 2009 8:17PM
YOU ARE NOT PREPARED !
Sorry, I had to do it.

Off-topic but are any other realms experiencing a bug which seemingly awards the next iteration of the "Earn x Dungeon Emblems" achievement when a character first gains an emblem upon login today? On Darkspear-EU we've noticed this behaviour today, after the server was taken down for extended maintenance to fix the instance capacity problem.
daan.leijen Oct 1st 2009 2:41AM
I think blizz gave us extra emblems for the server capacity issue. I was 2 emblems short of buying my T8.5 helmet, now i have 4 emblems left without having run a single HC or raid.
Joey Sep 30th 2009 8:14PM
Think about it this way. *from a raiders perspective) Do you still want to be doing the 5 bosses in ToC 10/25 for the next 3+ months? i know I'd sure be bored by then.
JoeShmoe64 Sep 30th 2009 9:59PM
With all the juicy bits just dropped about the 5 man, I'm as excited as ever.
Can't wait to see what comes up in the datamining!
