Patch 3.3 PTR: New weekly quests to do while raiding

At this point in the PTR, we're told that the quests reward 10 Emblems of Frost (which again hints that they'll be broken up over weekly periods rather than daily periods, as 10 Emblems a day is a heck of a lot of emblems). But of course that can all change before the actual patch goes live. Just know that if these quests go in, a) your raid will probably be heading back to farmed content at least once per week, and b) at least you'll be getting a nice reward from the run.

interesting concept if I say so myself

Oh no - please, please say I don't have to go back to Naxx25 again to Emblems of Frost Dailies completed?
PLEASE SAY NOOOOOOOOOOOooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

It's not bad. Most of the bosses you'd have to kill are single-boss instances or the 1st bosses in certain wings. Now if it were KT or Yogg... then yeah, might be a bit annoying if you stopped running those instances.
Tomnationwide Oct 2nd 2009 3:38PM
No. Only the people who are at that level need apply. In the end these Emblems give you a few pieces of gear and shouldn't create stress. Only absolute WoW nerds need fret this.

Netherscourge, you don't 'have' to do anything. If you don't want to go back to Naxx, don't go there. These quests sound like a fun reason to revisit old content and help newer raiders gear up. But like everything else in this game, they're entirely optional.

No worries of having to do 25-man anything, the tool tips say that raid size and difficulty do not matter... 10 Normal FTW on these :)
therationalpi Oct 2nd 2009 3:05PM
I'm glad to see none of these are very deep in the raids. In order to complete these, you need to kill at most two bosses. I would hate to have to go through all of Naxx just to get 10 badges, but facerolling Patchwerk would be totally worth my time.
Wait a minute, this gives me an excuse to see how my Patchwerk DPS looks in Crusader's Coliseum gear. I fully support this change!

25 man naxx with 10 people is fun.

jeez louise people, abuse the voting much? these comments that are now voted all the way up and down aren't partically that incitiful or abusive, they're just two different points of view. This seems alot more like one person figuring out how to spam the voting til he gets his and only his points read.
lame much?

gah, enough with forcing us to run old shit in order to min-max gear that we might still need.
Tankadin Oct 2nd 2009 3:14PM
To build out on my anger:
We raid 25s 2 nights a week 3-4 hrs each. That's Ulduar (mostly Yogg at this point), ToC, Ony and VoA. Where do they think all this extra time is going to come from to run these instances for badges?
It'll be like herding cats to get players to Naxx and Ulduar after the new raid come out in 3.3.
Como Oct 2nd 2009 3:14PM
Always amazed at some of the readership here... no one is forcing you to run anything. It will be like 20 min of raiding to nab some gold and high end emblems. Quit your qq this is good for all raiders, including us hardcore ones.
PeeWee Oct 2nd 2009 3:21PM
Use the first 15 minutes of one of your regular raids to do it. One would think that people that "raid 25s 2 nights a week 3-4 hrs each. That's Ulduar (mostly Yogg at this point), ToC, Ony and VoA" would be able to figure this one out on themselves.
I was obviously wrong. Being leet doesn't meant you can think for yourself, it seems.
Tankadin Oct 2nd 2009 3:24PM
@ Como
20 mins we could be raiding new content or working on progression kills. Do you really enjoy stopping work on progression kills that you nearly have down to go hit up VoA because "it's up"?
And yeah, my guild is going to want to run these because it's badges that help with gearing when in reality you get more from practicing your raid coordination. We min-max with the time we have and that means not turning up a chance at badges or running heroics because it'll help a little bit in the long run. My gripe is that Blizzard is turning this game into more of a time sink with old content being forced on us.
I love how all these welfare epic types vote down comments like these.

One would think one could reply without making a personal attack and Fallacious in a post, but I guess that's not the case with you. Now it's my turn: I'm sorry you're butthurt that I have a different opinion of this topic then you.

Blizzard isn't forcing you to raid old content. If your guild wants to get the most badges for the week, then that isn't Blizzard forcing you..that's your guild. Talk to your guild if you don't want to raid that content.
Naxx, Ulduar, and later ToC...that won't be content your guild would go through on their own. That's content you can run on your own whenever the hell you want. You won't even need to go through with a full 25-man raid. If your guild is going to force you to do content you don't want to do, then I guess you can leave your guild. But if you actually want to raid for the fun of it, then do so. I personally am going to enjoy going back to Naxx for a reason beyond gearing up an alt or two.
Enjoy the content while it lasts. In a few months, it will be worthless.

QQ....'nuff said.

On a plus side, the bosses are very early in the raids. First boss from a Naxx Quarter for instance.
Rilandune Oct 2nd 2009 3:09PM
This looks like a great option to alleviate some of the need to "farm" lower progression content for newer 80's. Plus this will open up the door for said newer 80's actually seeing the earlier content instead of simply getting into ToC and never running Naxx for instance.
Hashmaal Oct 2nd 2009 3:09PM
You will notice that there is--at most--one boss between the instance portal and the target of any of these quests. Heck, the Naxx bosses are all the first bosses of their respective wings. If you're lucky enough to draw one of them you're just a handful of trash pulls away from sweet, sweet emblems.*
*We of course don't yet know where Lord Marrowgar hangs out in Icecrown Citadel, but I think it's a safe bet it's comparatively accessible.
