Breakfast topic: Who inspired you to play what?

When it comes to other characters, though, I can usually point to someone or something else that inspired me to roll that alt. Big Red Kitty made me want to play a dwarf hunter (now level 67) with a Frostsaber Pride Watcher. This video made a tauren shaman look awesome, so now I've got one at 71. And it was World of Roguecraft, oddly enough, that made a male undead warlock (as opposed to rogue) look like it could be fun; the scene with the warlock and rogue taking a stroll around the Lordaeron ruins with the warlock's imp toddling beside him, for whatever reason, sold it for me. When I look around my list of alts, for each I can name something or someone who just made that particular race/class combination look cool. Who or what inspired you to play the races and classes you're playing right now?

You formed an emotional bond to someone on the internet that did nothing but write a blog and play WoW? You need some serious psychiatric help.

Hm....well i guess my greatest love in WoW would have to be my 80 human Warlock. Of course this wasnt my first character ever, and in fact, my first one ever was a night elf warrior whom i still love to this day and am trying to remake one on a different server. I really just clicked with a warlock for many reasons, a major one being the whole mysterious and enshrouded feel of one. I think the other major one was that my best friend had wanted to roll a Mage, so naturally i would want to roll a warlock, essentially the perfect pair =D Ive played off and on for a long time and i think ill still love my first warrior just as much.

When I was younger and started the MMO scene my friend had a half-elf druid in EQ and I wanted to be just like him so I made a Half-Elf Druid. Ever since then I have played druids in every MMO I can (or their equivalents aka Wardens and such) As far as the Tauren goes. I love the Tauren history and their eCulture. I am also embarrassed to say that I chose a Tauren because I wanted to play horde with JD so... lol That is another reason.

PVP videos did it for me. I still hate everyone that names themselves after the e-famous players though. If I see one more "Vurttnee" or "Drakkedog/Drakedawg" I'll have a fit.
Vurtne inspired my mage, while the semi-unknown Getz had me rolling a warrior.

The original WoW cinematic trailer, which was also what convinced me to start playing in the first place, instantly made me want to play a druid when I saw the female NE druid running through the forest shapeshifting into a cat as she jumped over a gap. That was epic.
I've sinced tried out all other classes but eventually landed back on maining a druid.

I picked WoW back up about half way through BC with a new account. Friends had a druid, warrior, mage, shaman, and warlock so I made a gnome mage to begin with. After learning how the game had changed during my abscence I created a Draenei shaman and never looked back. Something about being a resto shammy makes me all warm inside. powering others up with my totems, chain healing, instant ghost wolf for on the go pvp healing, and dual specs top it all off so that I can still bash some faces in as enh.
Love you, Hsin.

WowHobbs inspired me to start my Pally Tank (lvl 80). I wanted to run old instances and make lots of gold like Hobbs. I have done all of those things and more.

Watching "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" as a kid has forever affected my affinity towards caster classes in video games. Therefore, when I started WoW, I knew the Mage was for me.

I remember the first time I looked at the box for WoW, and on the back I saw a Dwarf shooting a gun. I told myself "I want to be that. I want to be a Dwarf that shoots a gun." So I rolled a Dwarf Hunter and never looked back. For the record, I didn't know about BRK until someone in a Heroic Mechanar run thought I studied his advice. I'm still regarding that as a compliment to this day.

When I first started the game I think I started as a human paladin. However, in the starting area I saw all the new mages running around throwing fireballs at everything and that seemed so much cooler then whacking things with my hammer. I immediately deleted my paladin and started a mage and haven't looked back since.

My wife's Ret Pally actually inspired me to roll a DK--something I'd told myself that I'd never do--and I've loved it so much that I haven't played anything else in weeks. She got me hooked on the idea of going in and just being able to blow things up with reckless abandon while wielding a hugemongous weapon.

I saw the south park wow episode which made me want to play the game and Kyle's mage made me want to play a mage

I once knew a Warlock named Kamart. He was one of my best friends in game, we always had something to say to each other, and we ran everywhere together. He was always a cool guy to everybody, took everything in stride and never let drama affect his attitude or how he carried himself. He always knew how to make me laugh and everybody who met him, liked him. He left the game shortly after we both left the one guild we were in but we still keep in touch through IM and Myspace.
He inspired me to roll a Warlock and he finds it insanely amusing that my lock is at a higher level than his now, as he left the game before LK.

When I started I was jibed into rolling an Orc Hunter by one of my friends.. that lasted till lvl 11 when I re-rolled a Priest, kicked around with that through Vanilla, but never felt like it was for -me-. What I had wanted to be from the start was an Elven Magi, but in vanilla, that wasn't possible. Enter BC, Rolled a BE Magi and haven't looked back except to roll a few other alts here and there.

Leonidas' portrayal in the movie 300. The one montage where he is just rushing madly through the Persians slamming his shield and throwing his spear. The way they isolate the sounds and emphasize them so you can enjoy every morsel of the sixty seconds of brutal raw power. I became a protection warrior after that and I can never play anything else.

After SWG lost its 'hunter class' I decided to break from MMORPG's but none of the other games out there really got my interest. It was Christmas time when my brother had asked me what I wanted and I told him a game that I was able to run around with critters and kill *bleep* with! ^_^
WOW came to me and I was immersed in my Night Elf Hunter ever since!! My first pet was a White Wolf and my most recent one was the Ghost Saber since I was afraid once Cataclysm hits some old spawned beasts may not be available anymore. ^_~
Happy hunting!

It was a night elf druid....I had no clue of the game at all. My friend was a druid and it looked cool, it was a big mistake at the time! Now I have landed up with more alts than I can shake a stick at...the druid is only 71! But have to say more fun and a wee bit easier to play than when I first started. It will be 80 soon...

Was orginally a human pally coming out of my DND days, I loved the paladin class and what it stood for. Then I was inspired by Turpster to roll a Gnome Warrior which is now my new main.

I first saw a the video World of Roguecraft 3. Instantly decided then I would play a rogue. If you watch the video now though, you realize the guy makes so many mistakes, but it's still inspiring.
