I'm definately in the not understanding the problem camp. Unless that screenshot is a terrible example of what you are trying to demonstrate, it appears you are definately complaining about not being able to vanish while standing in AoE and remain stealthed. Here's what I would do - run away from the AoE then vanish. I imagine that would work wonders...
