I fail to see what the "tangible" reward is for running PUGs...achievement points? A title of "the Patient"? I see nothing tangible there. Perhaps a new pet or a tabard or a mount would be something tangible, but all I see is lame achievements (which I do collect, so now I'll be forced to PUG) for a broken system which I should not be forced to use if I can get quality groups from within my guild.

A mount in WoW is no more tangible than a title. Each one is as visible as the other... and they're both just ones and zeros anyway.
I personally think the titles people strive for and display says a lot more about the player than anything else in the game. It shows that some things are worth your time and energy, even if it's just for your own personal enjoyment.
I'm sure many hardcore raiders would never bother with a title for running PuGs, but I'll display it proudly! For me, being recognized as the kind of player who can be successful no matter what is much more rewarding than kudos for being an snob who only runs dungeons with people they know.
Achievements are the best thing that every happened in WoW. They are a reason to PLAY the game.

and we need atitle : ' the doctor' next time when one fulfill some first aid achiv, dont we?:P
Neirin Oct 7th 2009 10:24PM
if they added this title, it would have to come with a TARDIS mount.
Sci-fi geek reference ftw.

Yes, yes, yes and yes. I've been saying for ages that there needs to be a Doctor/Dr./Nurse title for something First Aid related. Fishing and Cooking get their titles, where is First Aids love?
Jason Oct 8th 2009 12:00PM
Uh, guys, "patient" as in a patient person... Not a doctor's patient...

Why on earth would Proof of Demise and Timear Foresees become feats of strength? I thought feats of strength were only for things that weren't really possible to pursue, either due to being no longer available (like the old honor system titles), or due to being the result of incredibly small random chances (like the Baron's mount)?
Meethan Oct 7th 2009 10:16PM
We might be ridding of those with the new raid dailies coming out. Speculation only though.
xvkarbear Oct 7th 2009 10:16PM
They're changing/adding on to those current quests with the new weekly raid boss 'dailies'
Darkthunder Oct 7th 2009 10:20PM
Currently on PTR, neither of the questgivers give out the daily dungeon/heroic quests anymore. The previous heroic dungeon questgiver, now only gives out the "weekly raid" quests.
That would explain why the two quests become feats of strength, since they are no longer attainable.
Killchrono Oct 7th 2009 10:47PM
Even with the inclusion of the new weekly raid quests, it doesn't explain why they're removing the heroic dailys. I mean, Blizz was going on before last patch how they wanted people to run heroics, and the dailys and new emblem drops were meant to be insentive. Why change that now?
SamLowry Oct 7th 2009 11:10PM
Sooo...they're trying to force us into raiding, when some of us 80s are still trying to upgrade from our leveling gear? Will we be expected to grind the Tourney in hopes of receiving some purples and then leap right into raids?
Umm, yeah.
Sarakin Oct 7th 2009 11:41PM
Umm Sam? The way it is now you can chain run heroics if you want to upgrade your gear. Especially now that Triumph is becoming the main drop across everything.
You can buy all 5 pieces of tier 9 with it if I'm correct.
So if you don't want to raid here you go just like before you have a different option to catch up or do you own thing.
benai Oct 7th 2009 10:15PM
does this mean that the daily dungeon and heroic quests are being removed or atleast changed?
SamLowry Oct 7th 2009 11:11PM
Looks like "removed" is the correct answer.

"Looking For Many: Use the Dungeon tool to finish random heroic dungeons until you have grouped with 50 random players total. Awards the title: the Patient."
Win, pure win Blizzard!

"Let's not improve annoying game mechanics but make an achievement out of coping with them." It's brilliant yes. I want more achievements like that:
1) 'Breaking the Ice': your pet's pathing bugs has caused ten party wipes
2) 'The Real Slim Shady': the emote bug has made you stand up during sitting a hundred times
3) 'Playah': Manage to get a GM to do something about an RP griefer
4) 'Up and Down': Spec into the the talent that will be 'balanced' most during the next three months.
Plastic Rat Oct 8th 2009 1:11AM
Blizzard always makes certain that it is actually physically possible to complete all of their achievements.
Hence number 3 will never make it in.
With regard to 'The Patient' title for grouping... I don't see that as an issue Blizzard can fix. Idiots, ninjas, e-peen wavers are all human factors that make pugging require a certain amount of patience from us. Beyond changing humanity I don't see Blizzard being able to do anything much to fix .
Pathing bugs and the buff/nerf rollercoaster they can fix. Hell, I'd just love to see them actually do something about rp griefers and trade channel trolls.
Darky Oct 13th 2009 9:45AM
i want there to be a progressive achievement for putting up buffs, no member of your group went without your class's buff/beneficial aura (obv some classes are excluded) for more than 10 seconds, and then it goes up to 50 dungeons >100 >250 etc and the final one is an achievement the blesser/blessed also i'm going to wear my the patient with pride :3
