Are you serious?!? Mage T10 2P Bonus - Your Mirror Image ability also causes you to deal 15% additional damage for 10 sec.Mage T10 4P Bonus - Your Hot Streak, Missile Barrage, and Brain Freeze talents also grant you 12% haste for 3 sec when the effect of the talent is consumed. Why does Blizzard keep giving us nyerk bonuses? Was tier 8 really that OP that they need to nerfevery piece that comes after?

/agree... sort ofthe 2 bonus is kinda nice, but now almost forces us to use Mirror Image when a Bloodlust (or heroism) is up or when we use a trinket, to get the most out of it. This means that when we will want to use it to dump aggro, it will be on CD. the 4 bonus, as Ghaller has stated, is total crap. 12% haste (so far so good) for 3 second (wait, WHAT!?!?). Lets say I have 450 haste: 12% is about 54 haste, which translates to about a 1-2% increase in casting speed... and for THREE seconds. That's about enough time to do.... oh yea, NOTHING! But lets see here, maybe this will scale with the gear that we will be taking from Arthas. Lets say I have all BiS gear, and I have 600 haste. Well that transfers to 72 haste (only 18 extra haste): 2-3% increase in casting speed, again, for THREE seconds. Well that's much better.... oh wait, ITS NOT!As a Mage, I feel it is my duty to QQ... and I think Christian Belt would be proud.

I'm fairly certain when it says 12% haste it means 12% haste, not 12% of your haste rating. At level 80 that translates to about 393 haste rating.

Actually, I think you MAY be reading that wrong. It says "grants 12% haste", not "increases your haste RATING by 12%". As such, I take that to mean that it will actually decrease your casting times of spells by 12%. On a 2.0s Arcane Blast, that would decrease the casting time by ~.2 seconds, which isn't bad considering it proc at the start of every rotation (ABx4, Mbarr). Also, the 2pc bonus seems to be pretty awesome as well. Basically, they are giving us a second Arcane Power, except for its got a ~2-minute CD and doesn't increase the mana cost of spells. Imagine, its AoE time...Mirror Image+Arcane Power+Trinkets+Blizzard = 35+% more damage without having to worry about aggro. Epic.

Ahh, alright, I guess I read it wrong. Ok, so it doesn't look bad, for what it is proposing. I take back my initial QQ. But I think most mages can stand behind me when I say this isn't really a great 4 piece buff

I Know, i had to keep 2 peices of T8.5 and 2 peices of T7.5, for a while. The Gem SP was was brill as well as the change to gain X amount of spell power with my FFB.it rocked and then we get rubish, all T9 stuff is poor...

To Ascero,Great call to clarify the difference between rating and %. However...."As such, I take that to mean that it will actually decrease your casting times of spells by 12%."That's not quite how spell haste works. Each 1% haste allows one more cast in the time it would normally take to cast 100 of the spell.Instead of 3sec becoming 2.64 with 12% [3 - (3*.12)] it really is 2.68sec* [3/1.12]** It sounds trivial, but they are different. The way you phrased it while incorrect is a reasonable approximation. Works fine for eyeballing gear but breaks down as more and more haste piles on. The ratio changes when you graph them against haste and cast times. The GCD reduction, which is ultimately more important, is different math entirely. No idea what the equation is. Also, haste rating is additive (rating + rating = rating that converts to %) but haste % is multiplicative (% * % = %)***.* No idea where Blizz rounds. 2.67857142857repeating.**That's 3/(1+(haste/100)) to expand the equation.***10% from one source and 10% from another = 12.1% haste, not 20%. Or, 327.9 rating + 327.9 rating [32.79 = 1% spellhaste at 80] = 10% * 10% = 12.1% haste. That's not as ugly as it may look. Always up 1% haste can generally be thought of as +1% DPS for casters like mages whose DPS isn't heavily reliant on DoTs or instants until the 1 sec GCD is hit on the nuke(s). It scales very well.Sweet baby Thrall that's a lot of footnotes! Hope I didn't confuse people even more. If there are any typos in the math, someone please correct them.

Turtlehead, in my mind you could have just said: HASTE GETS DR'S!DR = the reduction of a stat the more of it you have, the exact equation that he just put in, look at it the hard way, or know simply that it means less haste for the more you stack.

the haste mechanic is brilliant. It effectivly makes it impossible to gain instant cast spells. In a traditional haste system, 100% haste would be a 100% reduction in cast time, making all spells instant. On the other hand, in blizzards system, 100% spell haste will only halve the cast time, 1000% haste will only allow you to cast them 10x faster, etc etc, never going down to instant.
