On some wow related websites (such as the Warlocks Den) just about everybody knows who I am, however, in game I'm just like everyone else. Though I did once have someone take a double take at me (ran by, backed up, and then ran off again) because I had my Violet Protodrake early on.
I'm curious about people that really ARE famous in the WoW community and elsewhere that nobody knows in game such as Felicia Day, Lights, Jimmy Fallon (whom I suspect only plays the day before Felicia Day is on his show), William Shatner, Mr. T, and Chuck Norris. I suspect they just don't let people know who their toons really are.
I suppose you could say that the guys from penny arcade (Gabe and Tycho) and PvP Online (Scott Kurtz) are the famous people on my realm (Dark Iron). But they cross into the realm of Real Celebrities (or rather, really well known people) that play the game and are known publicly to do so on Dark Iron. I don't think they count.
