EpicAdvice.com lets you ask and answer Warcraft questions

Stack Overflow actually has a little "badge" system where answerers can earn reputation points for answering questions correctly, and Jesta says that they're working on doing something similar for Epic Advice (though they'll probably have Achievements, as that's more Warcraft-y). But as of this writing, the site definitely needs more questions and answers, so if there's something bugging you about WoW (that our own Queue hasn't answered yet), or you consider yourself an expert and want to clear some things up, head over and give the site a look.

this is what will happen, the same ppl that made wow forum suck will invade and destroy that site.

Yr a Glass Half Empty kinda guy aren't you :P
I like the interface and it could be really good for getting quick responses and group-led intelligence, however the Stack Overflow tagging system feels a clunky means of being able to graze the knowledge base.
Dunno how but it really needs a more formal means of breaking down topics or filtering IMO otherwise drilling into tags once more than 20 or 30 posts have been made will be a chore. check out the 23000 odd .net tags out of 320000 questions asked on SO. Furthermore it works if you have mature programmers trying to find answers, but I'm not sure how that will work with multiple 'first!' responses :)
Hm. Looks like I drank my brewfest mug half empty..

lol not if you've read wow forums frequently....
Karilyn Oct 8th 2009 11:44AM
So, basically people like you will invade it?
What a shame, the site sounded like it had potential.
jake Oct 8th 2009 12:03PM
@Karilyn
lol the funny part is you are also putting the site down and validating that it will be affected by WoW forum crowd. So i guess I am right???

Sarcasm is a very powerful tool.
WaitWhat? Oct 8th 2009 11:27AM
Pretty sure that site doesn't need much help to suck.
notBowen Oct 8th 2009 11:33AM
That second question there is badly asked. Disc priests should use Distilled Wisdom!
chipersoft Oct 8th 2009 11:31AM
Oh good going Mike, you just crashed EpicAdvice's servers :P

I like the site. Dont be a hater. Girls like guys that smile and take showers.
t0xic Oct 8th 2009 11:40AM
I'm pretty sure girls want more than that. My honey-do list is neverending.

I think it's a pretty cool site but I'm just wondering. How do I get reputation if everyone has 1 rep and you can't upvote answers until you have 15rep? I've tried upvoting some good answers but can't because I'm new.
Falcom Oct 8th 2009 12:35PM
Chicken, meet egg.
Jesta Oct 8th 2009 1:59PM
Were working on it ;)
About 30 users now should have enough rep to vote up or down, and those 30 users will vote up and down on things, causing other users to have enough rep. Its a domino effect!
yaminokishi Oct 8th 2009 12:23PM
I've never heard of stack overflow, but this site sounds exactly like yahoo answers to me, and that's not a good thing.
Jesta Oct 8th 2009 2:00PM
Its more of a community feel and user moderation than yahoo's version.
Iriya Oct 8th 2009 12:27PM
What better way to stress test a site then to feature it on WoW.com?
chipersoft Oct 8th 2009 6:36PM
Feature it on Slashdot or FARK...
delcoro77 Oct 8th 2009 12:47PM
"if there's something bugging you about WoW (that our own Queue hasn't answered yet)"
Perhaps it's still bugging people because WoW.com's "daily" Q&A column hasn't had a new entry in 10 days.
imsobuzzed Oct 8th 2009 12:57PM
Yea, because Badge and Rep grinds are SOOOOO not Warcraft-y.
