I don't necessarily agree with everything we highlight here on WoW.com, but just because a post seems wrong doesn't mean it isn't interesting to talk about. Such is the case
with Loregy's latest post -- they suggest that after all is said and done, the much beloved (
whoops, not) Garrosh Hellscream will end up at the wrong end of our weapons. They say that
the big fight between Garrosh and Thrall (rudely interrupted by the
Wrath of the Lich King) means that Garrosh is in for a whooping at some future point. Matt basically said as much in his post a while back -- Garrosh is a flawed hero, to say the least, and it's likely that sometime here, those flaws are going to catch up with him, possibly in the form of us players.
Now of course whether that's true or not is an entirely different question from whether that's what you want or not. Kisirani has already said that
there are sides of Garrosh we haven't seen yet, and Blizzard could go either way with him -- either put him through some troubles and teach him to learn some lessons (right now
the guy is pretty dumb), or do what Loregy is suggesting and turn him into a raid boss (wouldn't be
the first faction leader with such a fate, to be honest). Personally, I think Garrosh is headed for a little redemption -- all he really needs, to my mind, is a little experience and humility, and, as I understand it, war can teach those pretty well.

I think if Garrosh leads the Horde, we'll finally see people transferring back from Horde to Alliance, just to kill him.
Good times.
Dart Oct 9th 2009 9:13AM
Do it. He's the worst part of the Horde.
Yes. Worse than the Night Elves who rerolled Blood Elf to look even prettier.
JPN Oct 9th 2009 9:50AM
See, I disagree...I love Garrosh. I want him as leader of the Horde.
I wish they'd do something cool like let us choose the leader of the Horde - Thrall or Garrosh - a max level (80, 85, etc.) quest where you can vote for one or the other only once.
I guess that sounds a little more...Alliance...but I wish we could have some kind of say, being members of the Horde too. And maybe with some sort of benefit for one or the other - Thrall promises a faction-wide buff...Garrosh promises, uh...I don't know. 50% off all vendors in Org? No, that's lame. I just think it would be cool.

I'm with you JPN. I'm going back to horde if Garrosh becomes leader. He's not a peace pansy like Thrall. World of WARcraft, not World of LOVEcraft. Let's get some war, angst, rivalries, and drama up in this game....dawg?
I would be happy to see the horde split in 2. A thrall faction, and a rebel faction led by Garrosh. It would spice up the game, because right now it is starting to become wayyy to predictable for me.
*braces for the downvotes for having differing opinion*

I also disagree. Lately I've becoming more and more into the idea of Garrosh causing a 4th war (correct number?)
I mean as much as I love thrall You gotta admit an actual war storyline in WoW could be kind of interesting.
But mainly I disagree because Blood Elves are the worst part of the horde and always will be until we get...dryads or something like that.

I suspect that after he becomes Warchief we'll see a lot more Alliance players with Black War Bears.
In all seriousness though, I don't think he'll become a raid boss. I think he'll learn a little about love.. or something, and he'll just be another imperfect faction leader, like all the others. Thrall has become a little too "Messiah-y" if you ask me. People seem to think he can do no wrong.
Irem Oct 9th 2009 4:13PM
Blizzard, at least (well, Kisirani) knows that Thrall is not perfect and has said so, which makes me interested to see if they'll ever start to spell that out for us. It's hard to tell where you're supposed to think "Ooops, Thrall made a mistake there" as opposed to "Eh, Blizzard didn't have enough time to go into the details of why he did X, Y, or Z, yay speculation."

Maybe if we got a Garrosh a girlfriend (or boyfriend. Hey, I don’t know) he’d have some one to even him out. Right now he’s got all this pent up sexual energy and no where to put it. The orc needs to get out there and meet people. Look at Thrall, he’s got a girlfriend and he’s easy-going as can be.
Maybe Garrosh has an old flame back at home, that girl he left to go be a big-shot in the city. She’s probably a sweet kindergarten teacher by now, who’s dating some guy that’s less than perfect but who she knows will never leave her like the man she really loved all those years ago. All it’s going to take is a death in the family or a wedding for Garrosh to come back and rekindle those hometown emotions and rediscover that what’s truly special in life are the people who care abut you…
Yeah...that would make an awesome patch.

Heh I thought of that scenario too.
My toon would totally take on the job of being Garrosh Hellscream's flame. Heck everytime I run TOC-5 I have a special macro in which my toon will say
"I want your love, and I want your revenge, I want your love, I don't want to be friends.
Lok'tar Ogar, Lok'tar Ogar, Lok'tar Ogar, I don't want to be friends.
I want your love and all your lover's revenge, you and me could write a bad romance."
I believe Garrosh Hellscream is a good, decent guy. Heck, the Spirits say so to Grandmother Geyah, they all agreed he is a good leader.
Lykofos Oct 9th 2009 9:23AM
Garrosh will end up on the wrong end of my Druid's claws, my Rogue's blades and my Warlock's Chaos Bolts. Yes, those alts will have their Achievements/Black War Bears he he. I don't think the Horde will bother to defend that jerk either, in fact they may cheer the Alliance on or reroll so they too can beat Garrosh to a bloody pulp.
Candina@WH Oct 9th 2009 11:03AM
when you come to kill garrosh, I'll be the horde guy standing off to the side, /cheering and eating popcorn.
