I don't necessarily agree with everything we highlight here on WoW.com, but just because a post seems wrong doesn't mean it isn't interesting to talk about. Such is the case
with Loregy's latest post -- they suggest that after all is said and done, the much beloved (
whoops, not) Garrosh Hellscream will end up at the wrong end of our weapons. They say that
the big fight between Garrosh and Thrall (rudely interrupted by the
Wrath of the Lich King) means that Garrosh is in for a whooping at some future point. Matt basically said as much in his post a while back -- Garrosh is a flawed hero, to say the least, and it's likely that sometime here, those flaws are going to catch up with him, possibly in the form of us players.
Now of course whether that's true or not is an entirely different question from whether that's what you want or not. Kisirani has already said that
there are sides of Garrosh we haven't seen yet, and Blizzard could go either way with him -- either put him through some troubles and teach him to learn some lessons (right now
the guy is pretty dumb), or do what Loregy is suggesting and turn him into a raid boss (wouldn't be
the first faction leader with such a fate, to be honest). Personally, I think Garrosh is headed for a little redemption -- all he really needs, to my mind, is a little experience and humility, and, as I understand it, war can teach those pretty well.

Hm . . . let's say he becomes a raid boss. Is this a faction specific raid? Like, is it only for Horde or Alliance? Or do both get to? If it's the latter, what is the other faction's motivation?
Or perhaps Garrosh becomes a "faction specific" raid boss, with the other side getting a likewise counterpart as a raid boss. Oh, the possibilities . . . Varian finally gets a little humility smacked into him? You kick Mekkatorque's butt until he agrees to march back into Gnomeregan? Perhaps a Bronzebeard has decided to step too far out of line? Very interesting possibilities.

Special abilities: Every sentence Garrosh says ending with an exclamation mark causes 500K raid wide damage.

I disagree with the 'Flawed Hero' concept as regards to Garrosh. As of now, he's done absolutely nothing heroic. He's gone from whining about how violent and terrible his father was and how he didn't want to live up to those standards to doing his absolute best to live up to those violent and terrible standards to the point of extreme stupidity.
Yes, the day Garrosh becomes Warchief, all of my Horde people will be quietly stepping out of Orgrimmar when the attack notices start pouring in, and all my Alliance people will be lining up to play 'Whack A Jerk'.

Thrall is my Warchief.
Even if Garrosh does a 180 personality wise, I may come to respect him, but I will not ever, EVER revere him. I will, however, /cheer when the Alliance come to put the hurt on Garrosh, because obviously it's a-whoopin' he's a-wantin'.

"Thrall is my Warchief."
This belongs on a t-shirt!

I-R-PALADIN? Oct 9th 2009 10:17AM
i said this b4 but i think garrosh is going to reedeem himself like his father did when he killed mannoroth it would make sence cuz that theam has been used many times in other stories.
Khremloc Oct 9th 2009 10:29AM
Something along the lines of the Conquest Hold questline would do nicely. :)

Garrosh only sees war and conquest, for the glory of the Horde. He has no conception of the tragedy the comes about when you take that world view too far, as his father did. I can easily see him turning to the Legion in to get the strength he thinks he needs to defeat Deathwing.
The martial culture serves a defensive purpose when the world is constantly set upon by larger than life, otherworldly threats. But if that martial ambition isn't tempered with a sense of honor and an understanding of the horrible lengths it can bring a man to, then the end it's followers will meet is inevitable. They will always seek power the need to defeat their enemies; but when the threat they sought to vanquish is gone, and only the quest for power remains they will seek power for the glory of power.
The honor I'm talking about here is to see the need for the martial culture, but at the same time to see the limits it must act within. To wield the sword for the sake of your people, not for the sake of the sword. To truly act with honor the martial instinct must be tempered with limits. There are things you must not do. Lengths you cannot go to. For in the end it is better by far to die with honor than live with glory. Glory is the fleeting self importance found through winning at any cost, and it will vanish when death comes as it must to us all. Honor can sustain a people for a thousand years and more.
Garrosh lacks the sense of honor that is necessary to temper the lust for glory. It is a lesson he failed to take from his father, and it will ultimately be his undoing.

This is the one of the best and most insightful posts, yes it seems no one has up rated it. Instead the silliness below has a three star rating....how sad.

I will name my orc son after you one day!

The son of Grommash must not be allowed to become a Jedi.

"Kisirani has already said that there are sides of Garrosh we haven't seen yet"
The Dark Side of the Force?
Nathanyel Oct 9th 2009 10:47AM
Hell yes! I am already mad Horde players only get to kill Krenna and not Agmar, while Alliance players down him regularily in IoC.
serf Oct 9th 2009 10:53AM
I really hope we don't kill Garrosh. I don't care what anyone says, I'm tired of Thrall.
catharsis80 Oct 9th 2009 10:55AM
"they suggest that after all is said and done, the much beloved (whoops, not) Garrosh Hellscream will end up at the RIGHT end of our weapons."
Corrected that sentence for you, Mike. :P

Um, what? My comment was supposed to be in reply, under peagle's comment on the 500K raid-wide damage.
