The Queue: Can't get enough pony

I'm taking a break from piecing together the video from WoW.com's recent run of the Forge of Souls to whip up a brand new edition of The Queue for you guys to read this afternoon. I went to Twitter for most of today's questions, so don't be surprised if they're pretty short!
AngerFork asked...
"Theory time: Since Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep are coming back as Heroics, do you think any other dungeons will come back as Heroics? If so, which?"
I don't think there will be many more, if any at all, when Cataclysm launches. I figure they're turning these into Heroics for one of two reasons. One, they're updating them to reflect current events in the world. Or two, they're just scaling them up to level 85 so newer players understand the background of current events. Someone who first leveled up in Wrath of the Lich King, or even Burning Crusade, might not know what happened in Shadowfang Keep and how it relates to the Worgen.
In the context of what's going down in Cataclysm, I could see Wailing Caverns getting an update as well, considering what happens with the Barrens. We know something will happen with Gnomeregan, but I don't know what that will mean yet. How about you, dear readers? Any ideas or theories?
slicertool asked...
"Can I have a Ghostcrawler pony t-shirt?"
Yes, but you need to make it yourself. After BlizzCon, we made the graphic available for download so you guys can print your own t-shirts or sweatshirts or thongs or whatever it is you want to do with it. We might sell WoW.com dealies at some point, but definitely not that. We're not looking to get sued, and I get the feeling Mr. Street wouldn't be happy about us selling things with his name all over it.
But you're on our staff you jerk, so you knew that already. Also, you smell.
DHStom asked...
"Does anyone have a spare Google Wave invite?"
I don't, but I'm sure somebody does. And they know who they should really give it to. Hint, hint.
dreln asked...
"Who would be next in line to be the leader of the Forsaken if something happened to Lady Sylvanas in patch 3.3?"
That's a good question! I'd say we don't really know. Sylvanas really holds the whole place together from what we've seen. Those faithful to her are almost cult-like in their devotion, aren't they? I'd say if Sylvanas went down, someone in the Royal Apothecary Society would pick up the pieces.
Syrana asked...
"When are you bringing back The Daily Quest?"
We don't necessarily need to bring it back, because it didn't go anywhere. It's just not quite daily right now. To give a little insight into what it takes to do The Daily Quest, the few of us on the staff that write it go through quite literally hundreds of blog posts and gaming sites every time we do it. We have a massive RSS reader with tons and tons of sites and blogs in it. The size of the post is somewhat deceptive, it looks like it's quick and easy. It can actually take hours and hours on a bad/slow day. When we get it done, it's absolutely worth it, but it can be a struggle. We love linking to posts we think are exceptional. Some days we simply can't squeeze it into the schedule though, and those are the days it won't be there.
It's also something that's easier for us to do when the community helps us out. Send us tips, sent us links, that sort of thing. Don't send us everything you read because we'll get tired of that pretty quick, but if you read something you really like, or wrote something you're really proud of, send it to us. We'll read it for sure (we read every e-mail we receive), and if we like it too, it will get highlighted. Either on its own, or in The Daily Quest. You scratch our back, we scratch yours. That sort of thing.
You guys have probably noticed The Queue has slowed down a lot as well, and it's somewhat for the same reasons. We love writing it, it's probably one of my favorite things to write because the format lets me be a little more candid with you guys while being helpful at the same time, but it's a huge time sink and relies heavily on the state of the game. Sometimes there simply aren't enough hours in the day for the editors to get this thing written up. And some days, like today, we have to go to other places to get questions to answer because we're currently in that pre-expansion lull that always tends to happen. Everyone wants to hear about Cataclysm, and we can't squeeze a time machine into WoW.com's budget.
We work with what we've got, and sometimes we just need to skip it for a day or two for the good of the column. Nobody wants to read us type "idk" for 30+ questions in a row. During these lulls, when we write The Queue we want you to enjoy it and have fun. And it should be informative, of course, but that's a given.

Personally, I want to see a heroic Gnomeregan, with the absolute best loot in the entire game found within its mechanical depths. And the bosses' attacks should be completely random, so there can be no possible strategy. Hell, make the populations random too, so you might find yourself against the final boss two steps from the entrance.
Why do I want to see this? Because it would be funny. And sometimes, that's all the reason you need. *grin*
devilsei Oct 9th 2009 9:22PM
Gnomeregan itself is random though, it was built by the most random race ever to exist on Azeroth! You make it any more random and the universe will self-decombobulatiatexplodimplosionize!!!

I'm really hoping for it to be made into a city.
I wanna afk it up next to High Tinkerwhatshisface. And the AH would be on the ceiling! And cake, everywhere there would be cake.
Slaytanic Oct 10th 2009 12:24PM
I was always partial to a Caverns Of Time instance, showing the original fall of Gnomeregan to the Troggs.
devilsei Oct 10th 2009 1:49PM
Slaytanic, unless the Bronze dragons want to wrap us up in a radiation-proof bubbles, we'd have to run away before the radiation instant-screws our DNA =O
RogueJedi86 Oct 9th 2009 7:12PM
Oh lord, can you imagine Heroic Gnomeregan tuned for 85's? The amount of trash inside even at a level 85 difficulty would make it just as hated as it is during the 20's-30's.
Nick Oct 9th 2009 7:25PM
I sort of like Gnomeregan. It is well designed graphically, just not mechanically...
duco Oct 9th 2009 7:53PM
I'd like to see a larger variety of mutated Gnomes. You'd think after all that time spent exposed to all that radiation they'd be really freaky. Just think: Gnomes with mis-matched body parts, huge 20ft tall Gnomes, Gnomes with tentacles. All possibilities are intrinsically hilarious, because they involve Gnomes.
RogueJedi86 Oct 9th 2009 7:58PM
I must say, I love the idea of 20 foot tall gnomes. My Gnome Mage agrees!

I'd say that gnomeregan, in its current form, while being a horrible heroic instance would make for a fantastic raid.
There is a lot of room to add extra bosses if needed, the place is wide open with a lot of room to stand in, has some quirks (the rest area) and takes a long time.
Furthermore, some bosses could be realy fun if buffed up to raid lv: Thermaplugg's bomb dispenser, when coupled with some crazy aoe explosions and stuff could be nasty, the trogg escort thingy, but then with random openings and cave-ins and stuff would be a fun retard check (don't loot the corpses, DONT LOOT THEM *crash*)
and some thrash is interesting: the arcane nullifiers, alarm bots and dark iron agents are things that would make trash pulls more then just aoe the lot (imagine all those caster going brainless aoe and the magic reflection popping up, or imagine if the alarm bots were imune to aoe and would spawn a gazillion of adds)
I'd say the place has potential
Pemberton Oct 9th 2009 10:23PM
They may cut back on the trash in the heroic version.
Nibbit Oct 9th 2009 10:32PM
I have fond memories of running around in Gnomeregan for hours “trying to hide how hopelessly lost I am from my girlfriend healer” and the desperate scrambles to kill the warning bots before they could tell on us.

"I sort of like Gnomeregan. It is well designed graphically, just not mechanically..."
This just screams irony at me
Vladeon Oct 10th 2009 12:30PM
There has to be either one of two things happen if Gnomeregan is to be made into a heroic instance. Either it needs to be made smaller, which could be done with the beginning part of it made into a friendly city area filled with gnomes (what could be better?), or it needs to have a boss in every single room so that we could get something like 30 emblems of fire, or whatever the new emblem system will be, in a single run so that it's worth it to kill all of those stupid troggs, which as a dwarf, I'm against. It's like killing monkeys. Who wants to kill something you're evolutionarily related to? If you have no idea what I'm talking about, go through Uldaman for kicks and a heavy dose of dwarf lore.
RogueJedi86 Oct 10th 2009 4:13PM
But Vladeon, if you're so opposed to killing your cousins, why did you do Uldaman or any of the Ulduar instances? The earthen of Uldaman and the Iron dwarves of Ulduar are your cousins too, just as much as the troggs. At least my Gnome has the excuse that there aren't many Mechagnomes to kill in the Ulduar instances, and none in Uldaman. You on the other hand have a ton of cousins in dungeons. Earthen, Troggs, Dark Iron Dwarves, Iron Dwarves, Frost Dwarves, the list goes on and on.

Sorry I posted this one on the wrong Queue post, so here it is again. I'm not sure if this has been answered before but I'm a little confused. What is going to happen to Greymane City? Is that going to be the capital of the Worgen or are they going to share Stormwind with the humans?
SpearXXI Oct 9th 2009 7:21PM
It has already been announced that SW will have its own Worgen section, because the Worgen major city is PVP zone similar to Wintertgrasp.
Riltia Oct 10th 2009 7:49AM
Spear, there's a WG like PvP zone, yes, but it isn't Battle for Gilneas City. Tol Barad is like WG, BfGC will be an instanced battleground, much akin to WSG/AB/AV/EotS and so forth.
Chances are, IMHO, that Greymane City will be the Worgen city. The Dwarves have a quarter in Stormwind, yet they still have their own city (Ironforge).
Nawaf Oct 10th 2009 7:51AM
Spearxxi misunderstood what blizzard said, the truth is that the Worgen will not have a capital city, and will have their own district in stormwind, a new pvp bg will be themed for Gelnaes (WSG for Ashenvale, AV for altarec mountains, AB for arathi highlands), it will not be a pvp zone. what's worth mentioning is that there will be a pvp zone like wintergrasp called the island of tol barad (or something like that).
Greymane city will exist but will not be a capital city, it will be just a city (like booty bay, Xroads, auberdine, and similar places).
