On leveling, I recommend combat. Avoid weapon specializations for a while unless you have heirlooms. Spec for anything that gives back energy. Keep yourself in blues all the way up for maximum fun. Plan to respec immediately add 80.
On end game...
The AOE is a little gimped now and not as fun. You really have to save your Adrenaline Rush to keep up with other classes- like the hatchlings on Oxyxia.
There are a good number of encounters where an enlightened raid leader can put a rogue to good use- prevent healing on the champs encounter in TOC and expose armor on many bosses are two examples that come to mind.
Good tanks love Tricks of the Trade- I often refresh it in the middle of fights. Set focus on the tank to make it easier.
If you need a break, find a buddy and go harass a VOA raid- loads of fun!
For Blizzard...
Hopefully, the pendulum swings both ways. For a while now you have shown much love for the utility classes. I think this is your own greediness to keep people playing, "LF2M tank and heals for daily heroic", is not good advertisement. Personally, I enjoy the pure classes and secretly hope that you offer more advantages for the sacrifice we make playing them. Let the pendulum swing.
