Patch 3.3 PTR: Icecrown testing starts tomorrow

Stay tuned -- we'll definitely have a few players available to test the encounter and give you some impressions from the PTR tomorrow, and if we can get enough folks together, we might even stream it again. As Daelo points out, the testing schedule will be extremely flexible, so Blizzard will likely pull bosses up and down at a moment's notice -- they've got a lot to test and probably less time to do it than they'd want. Note also that this is for US PTR servers only -- the EU will have a seperate testing schedule that will be available on their forums when it's ready. To Icecrown!
Patch 3.3 is the last major patch of Wrath of the Lich King. With the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man dungeons and 10/25-man raid arriving soon, patch 3.3 will deal the final blow to the Arthas. WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.3 will keep you updated with all the latest patch news.Filed under: Patches, Raiding, Bosses, Wrath of the Lich King

So the question is, can months and months of hype live up to expectations. I can't wait to find out.
Rmschoir Oct 14th 2009 9:45PM
Months? I watched Arthas ascend the Frozen Throne in 2003. It's time to bring him down.
Docp Oct 14th 2009 10:27PM
Blarg, I said months and months because I knew I'd get someone saying something like "Wotlk hasn't been out for a year" if I said years. Should have known someone would get me on it when I said months and months. =D

What time do you guys think that you will stream it? I have an 8 hour flight tomorrow, starting at 4pm.

Mmm, I hope those undead tanks aren't an omen of things to come...
Meethan Oct 14th 2009 10:03PM
I really hope they don't test Sindigrosa or The Lich King himself. Those are two bosses I think should remain in the complete shadows until the final unveil.

So you would like to fight a boss with a ton of bugs? Personally, I wouldn't.
Literaltruth Oct 14th 2009 11:04PM
Solution: Don't read about it or play the PTR. As the commentator above said, I hope those two bosses in particular are extensively tested by people who don't care about "spoilers" so that they run smoothly when I, after following my own advice, get to fight them they will be fully working.
Leviathon Oct 15th 2009 12:28AM
They rarely test end encounters in larger instances so I doubt we will see anything with Arthas on the PTR (just like Yogg).
Camaris Oct 15th 2009 4:36AM
Or Sunwell, which, to my recollection, went largely untested but came out pretty decent on Live.
Oz Oct 14th 2009 11:05PM
Hope you stream it, I'd like to see it.
Ryar Oct 15th 2009 12:12AM
You never know, they might be saving fight like the Lich King as a sort of supprise for the player base and just do internal testing.

We should do a WoW.com commenter raid! Sadly, I'm going to be away this weekend, but we should definitely set one up for sometime next week!
