I think the idea of hiding your tabard goes against the very nature of a tabard as was said earlier. You're proudly displaying your allegiance to some faction or group. If you don't want your tabard showing, take it off. However I would be thrilled to hide my shoulders.Also, I would enjoy being able to "lift up" my robe from the dressing room thing when looking at new pants or shoes without actually taking off the robe.
