The Guild season 3, episode 8 (with gag reel)

Another excellent (and a little disturbing) episode of The Guild is out right now on MSN Video and the usual places (including right after the jump on this post). Wil Wheaton returns to his role as the rival guildleader, and the rival guild continues to push the envelope on revenge. Tink makes a return as well, but as for how that goes, we'll let you watch the show yourself.
Elsewhere in Guild news, Wil Wheaton also made an appearance as himself on the geeky sitcom The Big Bang Theory last night. If you missed it, CBS has a few clips up on their website to watch right now. The appearance isn't actually World of Warcraft-related, though the game has appeared on the show before (and Felicia Day and I talked about Big Bang Theory a while back on our podcast). And The Guild has also posted a second season 3 gag reel, with behind the scenes footage of all of the guys... cursing like sailors. Enjoy!
Like The Guild? We do, too! We chatted with all of the folks at BlizzCon, including Felicia Day, Sandeep Parikh, and Jeff Lewis and Michele Boyd. We also saw their panel, and the guys were nice enough to stop by our meetup as well. Stay tuned here every Tuesday for a brand new episode of season 3!

I hope they start harnessing Riley's evil powers and using them against Axis of Evil pretty soon because I'm actually beginning to get a little bored of the Knights of Good as victims thing.
Plus, poor Zaboo :(

Totally agree with you, this season has been fairly funny, the vork scenes really keep me going but there's only so much of this bullying I can take! I mean...they can take...Oh...lord....
What I mean is that they can't just sit idly by!
FOR THE KNIGHTS OF GOOD!

The thing I find most annoying is that the Axis' revenge is not that it's overblown, just that it seems unmotivated. Sure, they anarcists, bullies and douchebags, but they have no reason to torment the Knights of Good. They've already showed them up ten times over and proven their superiority both in-game and out of it. There's no reason for them to keep going out of their way.
I'm wondering if there's some Freudian motivation behind their actions. I hope so, I'll be disapointed if it just turns out they're uber douchebags.

I know it's just a comedy and not real, but given the scenario the KOG are being put through by AOA, it would seem a reasonable response to bring up the subject of what is legal and illegal here.
The teacher planting weapons in a student's locker
Harassing a minor while on duty/impersonating a police officer
Acquiring photos of a minor, distributing them and hosting a website for them
Aside from that, I want to see the Knights of Good stop being pansies and stand up for themselves.
I want to see Riley either get harnessed and used as a weapon against Axis, or get her out of the damn picture. Her creepy sadistic tendencies are going way past entertaining now.
I want to see more interactive via during gaming instead of constant mic rantings from one guild to another.
I want to see more development of Mr. Wiggles' character and gaming career.
I love The Guild but it seems like the season is being hijacked by Axis and its' mono-personality trait characters. They just hit a new expansion and we've yet to hear about anything involving the bloody game play all season.

YAY

Hmm I hope it gets better soon this is becoming quite a boring story line.

I've been off and on with this season, but I quite enjoyed this episode. Also, WIl Wheaton is amazing! The rival guild leader just makes me smile.

Old storyline is getting old!
Also...Tink is a bit of a bitch...
TyKell Oct 20th 2009 9:12PM
Agreed, but she was always a bitch to be fair. Her way of speaking grates on me.

Guess you wouldn't like a lot of girls in Southern California then. A lot of them talk like that.

Just the stupidly rich ones.

That's the juxtaposition of her character. Her name is Tinkerbella. Her room is filled with stuffed fuzzy animals and colored pink. In game she kills stuff and drops f bombs and uses people.

After spending a year in retail in a Michigan college town, I've noticed that all the girls are doing a spot-on impression of Cher from Clueless, yet I'd be surprised if any of them even knew who Alicia Silverstone was.

that ending SO made me laugh :)

Getting hit with paintballs from that close a distance leaves really big welts... And hurts quite a bit.. :P Anyway, these just keep on getting better and better!
Doberbane Oct 20th 2009 9:03PM
I like Clara's husband coming in and not being pushed aside by his wife this season, and Vork is oddly funny, but that's about it for me this season. I'm sick of the Axis of Anarchy plot. It was funny the first couple of eps, but now it's just old and stale. This season is just a repeat of itself.
LiQiuD Oct 20th 2009 9:09PM
I liked the episode overall, but at the end, when there was paintball with no masks. That just irritated me.
Gamers don't like it when gamers get a bad reputation for being indoor, parents basement dwelling, shut-ins.
Well paintballers don't like to see their sport played unsafe. It's just another incorrect stereo-type.
jbodar Oct 20th 2009 11:15PM
To be fair, Riley is a sociopath. When the other person doesn't have a gun, you're not "playing" paintball, either. That's just assault. =)
Michael Oct 20th 2009 9:20PM
This whole thing is getting tiresome, hopefully they move on with the story already. The last four? episodes have been basically the same thing.
fearthefireblade Oct 20th 2009 9:27PM
Herbert Holdman. A.k.a. Vork. I am a seeker of knowledge.
