Emergency European maintenance this evening

Many thanks to our followers on Twitter for alerting us of this downtime, because our European staff members are apparently off doing silly things like sleeping. Thanks a lot, guys. Because of that, I'm now inflicting cultural stereotypes on you all in the form of the picture at the top of this post. Don't take your rage out on me, take it out on the warlock.

hopefully this is to fix the epic lag we've been having since weekly maintenance?
Amaxe Oct 23rd 2009 11:44AM
If so, I hope they give US servers a emergency maintenance too. I was wondering if an unannounced hotfix got in there. I know its the Halloween event but this seems to be much worse than most events

Sleeping?
This is madness!

Madness?
THIS. IS. INSOMNIA.
Matt Oct 29th 2009 8:35AM
Yeah, all non-british players on the EU realms were getting massive latency spikes since the weekly maintenence downtime
Rai Oct 22nd 2009 9:13PM
Truly, this is the work of Mr Chilly and his bid for world domination. Hell, he bought Pengu normal-coloured contact lenses.
BUT WE'RE NOT FOOLED.

British players too, at least this British player. Between about 7pm UK time and 11pm, the game is basically unplayable.

Wintergrasp and Dalaran have been pretty horrendous at any time during the day, never mind peak hours!
Lorgrim Oct 22nd 2009 9:41PM
Im in the UK and I was alright... no latency or anything... it was a bit of a shock when I got the announcement saying the servers were going down... But at least it gave me a chance to watch Question Time.

It was a good'un, wasn't it?
wiglet Oct 23rd 2009 2:42AM
Heh, I'm youtubeing it again!
Riltia Oct 23rd 2009 10:22AM
I have to say, I had no issues either.
But, it does happen :)

Is this how Europeans usually dress?
Agerath Oct 22nd 2009 10:52PM
Yes, none of the tens of countries within the EU have any culture or dress unique to them at all.
We all dress identically: in leather shorts.
Slog Oct 22nd 2009 11:54PM
I gotta say, leather shorts would shrivel my nads into a sweaty mess. Good thing I'm american.
Hansbo Oct 23rd 2009 1:15AM
Being European, I always dress like that. And I get ALL the ladies!
Shevva Oct 23rd 2009 7:23AM
Yes we alll dress like the picture above, saying that there are people in europe that like to dress American with a backwards baseball cap, random sleveless sports top (generally basketball) and a .45 in there back pocket.
Axolotl Oct 23rd 2009 7:28AM
And now an answer without the sarcasm ;-)
This is traditional German or Austrian wear, it's only worn for specific occasions ( like brewfest :-D ).
The rest of the year they dress in feldgrau and wage war on the rest of the world (ok, some sarcasm)
Do Americans still run around dressed the way we see it in westerns?
kymali Oct 23rd 2009 10:58AM
I can confirm three of those pictured are English (its the socks with sandals) however the pink shirt is the visiting American about to be sacrificed to something (its an old tradition the shirt used to be red)
Valris Oct 22nd 2009 9:49PM
The servers are back up.
