Worth trying, but I still think Arcane will have the edge in PvE.
Definitely an interesting thing they're doing, especially when GC said they had no intentions of making Frost PvE viable. That it was THE PvP tree.
At least they made Deep Freeze viable in PvE again. Kudos for that. It should have been that way all along.

That's not really what he said. It was "We want to get frost PvE viable (and fire PvP viable) but since mages already have a solid PvP and PvE spec to go on, we want to make sure all classes have a good PvP and PvE Spec" (Im paraphrasing, obv.).
I was expecting to see lots of Frost changes in cataclysm, but considering that they aren't introducing a new tier of talents, it makes sense that they're pushing things to earlier patches.

@Charlie: I honestly wasn't expecting any movement at all on Frost PvE. Every time the subject has been brought up in the past few months, we've basically gotten condescending pats on the head and told to spec Arcane or Fire if we wanted to raid. We were not exactly high on the priority list, to put it mildly.
