I must be one of the few Magi who could care less to be casting 'shatters' in PvE.
I'm tired of the spec being based on 'shatter combos' that is not what makes Frost "frost" ffs. Every time Blizz has tried making Frost do damage within the shatter mechanic, they fail completely. Not every spec operates exactly the same way in PvE as it does in PvP, and several specs have 'completely worthless for Pv-X' spells in them. Can we PLEASE stop trying to work Ice Lance into all our Frost rotations?? It's been almost 5 years now, and they still can't get it right... just move on already.

I figured the FC change wouldn't last, not because it was OP, but because it created GCD issues - and was simply another gimmick to get shatters into the PvE rotation. /yawn.

For Deep Freeze to be such a deep talent yet have no PvE use (outside of saving a player with poor aggro management skills on trash) was pointless. I'm glad they are trying to work this spell into out PvE rotations now.

Now in this vein, perhaps the Deep Freeze should apply a de-buff to the boss (more utility) that allows those shatters to simply function like they normally do instead of trying to make them 'more than they are'.
