Patch 3.3 PTR: Shadowmourne spell details

Everyone's favorite* dataminer, Boubouille of MMO-Champion, brings us more details on the upcoming legendary axe Shadowmourne this evening. I'm going to keep this intro brief, because I know many of you don't want to be spoiled at all regarding the stats of this item or the means of acquisition (that link is a spoiler, FYI). The spells listed below are datamined effects related to Shadowmourne. Since it's the PTR, all of this is subject to change.
- Item - Shadowmourne Legendary: Your weapon swings have a chance to drain a Soul Fragment from their victims. When you have acquired 10 Soul Fragments you wil unleash the Souls of the Damned, dealing 6840 to 7560 shadow damage split between all enemies within 8 yards.
*Okay, probably not Blizzard's favorite.
Patch 3.3 is the last major patch of Wrath of the Lich King. With the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man dungeons and 10/25-man raid arriving soon, patch 3.3 will deal the final blow to the Arthas. Haha, i think i just saw Ziebart on the PTR, too. Or at least a rabid fanboy. If it is true, i was the Paladin named Bubblr in the Silver Covenant disguise.

That effect doesn't look so interesting, specially if you think this is a legendary weapon. I'm guessing that's ONE of the effects that the axe will have, coupled with some more. Otherwise, I bet the stats will make it more worth than that spell.

If its on par with the TF proc rate, it shouldn't be a problem.

it probably procs a lot and scales with stats. i'd say that would be pretty legendary

If the proc is as it seems to be, it'll be the best Arena weapon by a factor of about a bajillion.
Imagine a DK and Warrior with this on a 3v3 team. Two sources of unpredictable 6-8k damage spikes?

Good DK tanking weapon too, automatically adjusts b/w single-target and AoE threat, depending on the fight. Hope the stats are good too.
