I always wondered why a lot of the other mmos that came out didn't do the one, simple thing that has kept me hooked on Wow for years - offer it on a Mac platform. Aion? Looks great! Guild Wars? That looked fun, too. But neither of them, nor very many others, released with a Mac version. I'm not saying that this is the only reason that Warcraft never seems to be replicated elsewhere, but it's one reason why I have never been tempted strongly enough to look around, considering I'd have to invest in a lot of hardware *just* to game.
