I first read that as 8 AM, which made me excited as a morning player, since that would mean limited competition, but alas, no such luck.

Seriously don't see why this is at 8pm Server time on the day raids reset. Not just catering to casuals, which I don't mind, but a huge middle finger to raiders.

Raiders get better gear than non-raiders, and they get to see all of the content Blizzard puts so much time into, whereas we non-raiders do not. So much of what Blizzard does only benefits the raiding community, and I don't think it's completely unfair to implement one part of the game that is mostly off-limits to raiders when so much of the game is completely off-limits to non-raiders.

If you don't LIKE it, that is another matter entirely.Putting an event at the same time as the majority of raiding guilds either start or are into their raids already is just downright stupid, when they could put it one hour earlier. Balancing it to allow more people to do it is tricky, but 8pm actively excludes the majority of raiders.

The article says that it occurs on Wednesday. That's the day -after- all the raids reset.

For the US servers, sure. If things havn't changed since I raided on the US side, however, that is still a standard raiding day.

Raiders versus non-raiders? You all make it sound like, once pidgeon holed into a particular part of the game you aren't allowed to do anything else. I raid once or twice a week on wednesdays, but I also do the fishing tournament when I can, I do quests, I run dungeons, I do holiday achievements. I'm a pretty all around player. It DOES seem daft to do it on a day when a big percentage of the population is usually involved in a scheduled group activity. Sure I could not raid if I wanted to (not true of every guild) but then I miss out on raiding for the week. Make it a monday! Or a Thursday! Or Saturday! It doesn't really matter, it just seems odd to make it a wednesday when that is probably the most raided day.I want to do this tournament, it sounds like great fun.

Yeah 8pm server time, the time that most people are on. Why are Blizzard being like this, they should make it so less people can do their contests they create. Maybe raiders can write Blizz and give them their schedule so Blizz can change everything for you. Or you could just put raid your time back 30 minutes, but Blizz working around your schedule is so much easier.

Thank god my guild ends at 8 am server time, so i cean just recruit some guildie to be my spotter right after raid

""non-raiders" have every opportunity to do both."And raiders have every opportunity to do the fishing contest. I don't have time to get involved in raiding, so it's not really available to me, but technically if I really wanted to do it, I could give up other stuff I do in life and focus on it. I just choose not to because I prefer the other stuff (like my husband
