IIRC, it's a quit button. Just shuts down WoW (or whatever program you have up), like an emergency shut off switch. Like i said though, that's if I remember correctly. ;)

Ya, I just tried it on my Mac to see what would happen. Option(alt)-F4 opens the Expose System Preference. Nice handy shortcut if I ever need it, thanks!

just did alt-F4 on my mac too and I think that's probably the most useless keyboard shortcut I've ever used. Why would I ever need to quickly open up the preferences panel?
