My main is a rogue - so seeing Hybrids close up on the DPS meters can upon occasion get under my skin, though I still did see the point of many Hybrids - "But we can only do one thing at a time!". I'm also a fan of my raid succeeding, so the higher damage output everyone has the better - I'm not petty, I don't have to be number 1, the boss just has to die.
However there are still perks and advantages to being a Hybrid class regardless of your role. Here are some of my personal experiences:
-My raids first kill of KT way back, then entire raid was dead - KT died to the DoTs of a holy priest in a last ditch effort.
-On XT a ret pally managed to taunt and kite a pummeler away from the MT when our OT was killed
-The other day on my priest, running UP as shadow our druid healer was killed 5 seconds in the final fight - it cost me every cooldown I had but I healed through the fight and we downed it.
I'm not anti-hybrid. As long as pures maintain enough versatility and a high enough damage output they won't be shunned in raids I'm completely fine with Hybrids, but I do think a lot of them forget all the advantages and tools they have available.

Okay, so I click the Diabolical Minds link expecting to see an examination of GC's take on the subject and the author's personal stance on the issue and instead I get... a discussion of the wording of the statement and how it relates to the perception that one has towards the issue at hand? I... I can't even follow some of the sentences this guy is writing. I don't think some of them even mean anything. Descartes makes more sense than this. I have to go lie down now. Damn you. Damn you all.
