The Guild is on holiday vacation this week -- instead of the latest episode in the series (which is episode 9, and will come out next week, we're told), they've posted a Halloween special video, which you can watch over on MSN or right past the break below. It's more than just a chance to don their actual guildie costumes, too -- they go on a "socially acceptable real-world looting" run, with each guildie terrorizing one unlucky couple in their own special way. What's scarier than a Tuesday with all the servers down for maintenance? Vork showing up at your door.
And while we're on the subject of The Guild, our good friends at Massively got a chance to speak with a few of the cast members at GameX earlier this week -- Jeff Lewis, Robin Thorsen, and Sandeep Parikh got cornered by Massively's cameras, and talked with them about Wil Wheaton, MMOs, and Sandeep's famous backflip. Have a happy Halloween, Guild fans, and we'll be back next week with the third-to-last episode of season 3.
That was great! So much better than the fail that's been season 3. Nice to see the characters reverting back to what made them funny and gel together as a "guild." Clara's antics always crack me up... a martini glass in hand and the kid in the street. Win!
Awh that was great! I love Holiday specials. :) (Also a good extra use of the "Date my avatar" costumes. ) And as the lil kid at the end said "Thank your date!" ^_-
The writing is more sophisticated? What, are you talking about the dialogue? Like with Zaboo and his "dialogue" with tall FPS hot girl who's never been properly developed or integrated into the actual plot? Or maybe the fact that the show has "evolved" beyond Codex as the center piece where it was her world we were seeing, but now it's just... I don't even know what it is. Well, Wesley Crusher is in it, and he's in it big time, but not in a good way.
Actually, all we need is Ted McGinley to really pull season 3 off. You know what... that may actually reverse the epic shark jump. He could roll in mid season and pull a Steven Seagal and one-shot Wil Wheaton's gang with one of those warcraft credit cards, but with a thin razor in it, Glimmer Man style.
I missed this. Season 3 is ok and all, but it just not the same as the first 2 seasons. This was like the season 1 finale in Halloween costumes. Great!

I think to me the most shocking thing of the whole episode is that Tink would actually wear a costume like that on Halloween.
:P

Amusing as usual, but the toddler sitting next to the curb is a bit over the top for the "Gamer mom is a bad mom" joke.

sad thing is, most highschool girls wear costumes like that on halloween. That kid was adorable at the end.

Much better than the rest of the season so far. The little kid at the end is so cute!

I swear, I thought the kid said "Tank your date!" which is just weird on multiple levels. The "baby truffle-shuffle thing" was win also.

The situations and writing in season 3 are more sophisticated than either season 1 or 2 and yet it sucks?
You all fail at entertainment.

Vork's "real world looting" line cracks me up. Great episode!

I wish all the episodes were like this...oh wait...I'll just rewatch season 1. Kid was great at the end.
