Patch 3.3: Just run as many heroics as you want

But as it turns out, there's even more cool stuff hiding below the surface. If you're like me, chances are good you've spent a day or two chain-running heroics to gear up an alt or to get instant gratification on that badge item you want. The issue with chaining heroics at this point in time is that eventually you hit a wall: do instances you hate (Oculus) or stop running instances because of your 24-hour heroic lockouts.
Well, in patch 3.3, everything's a-changin'. While heroic lockouts aren't going away, they will not affect your random dungeon selections. What this means is that if you and four guildies do a timed Culling of Stratholme run, and then you join the queue for a random heroic, you may be assigned Culling of Stratholme a second -- or third, or fourth -- time, depending on your luck, as your random dungeon. And you'll get two extra Emblems of Triumph for completing the random dungeon each time, even if you've run the dungeon already that day. The only way that your lockout will affect you is that you cannot create a group with /invite for that same dungeon again that day.
Basically, as long as you're choosing the Random Dungeon option, you can run as many heroics as you want, every day.
With increased rewards for, easier access to, and the trivialization of lockouts for heroics, Patch 3.3 is the perfect time to dust off that neglected level 80 alt of yours and take him or her on a tour of Northrend's most dangerous places.

Just how accessible is too accessible?
tim Oct 29th 2009 7:08PM
To each their own, but I'm loving the idea of being able to gear up all my alts for mid-level raiding without bothering my guild.
Also you should note that Blizzard actually scaled back on their initial intent of having heroic bosses drop emblems of triumph.
Majorfalcon Oct 29th 2009 7:11PM
@ Tim
Heroics are still dropping conquest? I guess thats a small consolation, but it is still infinite triumph/conquest emblems per day, assuming you have the stamina for it. I'm just wondering where the line is.

@ tim
Heroic Bosses will be dropping emblems of Triumph as of patch 3.3.
tim Oct 29th 2009 7:25PM
@Chlroic,
Are you sure? My bad.
So Triumph for heroic bosses and 2 Triumphs for doing it randomly? That is... really accessible then.
Mr. Tastix Oct 29th 2009 8:38PM
It's only accessible because the new emblems are Emblems of Frost. Emblems of Triumph are like our Emblems of Conquest now, and the new Emblems of Frost will be like our current Emblems of Triumph.
I don't see how it's easily accessible since you can just run every dungeon and boom, get an Emblem of Conquest for each boss kill. In 3.3, they'll be changing Conquest to Triumph and Triumph to Frost. Much like they did with Emblems or Valor or Heroism.

Gear progression is now a three-"tier" system. Tier 1 is one raid behind, like Conquest emblems now. Anyone can get Tier 1 for running heroics.
Tier 2 is current raid, normal mode. You have to run Trial of the Champion right now for Tier 2.
Tier 3 is current raid, hard mode.
Every time new content comes out, these three meta-tiers move up a rung. It's as though SSC/TK gear had become available from heroics in BC. (Which, in a way, it did, with the Sunwell-patch weapons.) If you put in enough time, you can never be more than two "tiers" behind hardmode items from the current raid.

Lets just put a listing on the Blizzard website, with a selection of Faction, then a selection of class and then a selection of level and gear, and price it accordingly.
Easier, Easier, Easier at what point does it become to easy, I only have a few hours a day at most myself to log on sometimes not at all, already am pushing towards my 7th 80 and 3 of those are geared enough for ToC 10/25.

The line is where you draw it. Its a game you pay to play. Play as long, or as short, as you like.

Looks like I can get my t9 set complete even faster :D
Styvorama Oct 29th 2009 7:07PM
Did I get this right? You can keep doing random dungeons, and get 2 triumph for each random heroic completed?
O.O
Lidodger Oct 29th 2009 7:21PM
Yes, that is correct.
Eternauta Oct 29th 2009 9:09PM
I'm not so sure. I think I've read that every time you run a random heroic the reward diminishes.
BRB, checking out...

For the daily random quest
Super Healer Oct 30th 2009 9:19AM
I think it is just 2 emblems of frost for the first random heroic dungeon that day (as well as about 60g), after that you just get 2 emblem of triumphs as well as the emblems from the bosses until the next day.
Also, I dont think there are daily quests any more, just random daily heroic and you get your reward automatically when the final boss is killed. There are quests for the daily raid though.

"We don't need no stinking badges!"
"Badges" do have a better ring than "Emblems," IMO.
