Bring back King Dred!
Dreamstorm Oct 29th 2009 6:07PM
Dalronn the Controller and Skarvald the Constructor (the duo from Utgarde Keep)
or
Novos the Summoner (the mob-down-the-stairs-guy from Drak'tharon Keep)
.... would be awesome. Their unique combat styles deserve a second attempt!

I'd like to see either Eregos or Loken back in the running.
Mithra Oct 29th 2009 6:15PM
Bring back Schramm the Fleshcrafter!
BuzzDX Oct 29th 2009 6:17PM
General Bjarngrim. He unjustly lost to a weaker opponent.
thebitterfig Oct 29th 2009 6:58PM
Seconded. Skadi's win was nonsensical, and only due to the fact that *Players* have a hard time with him, not how the General would do in an actual fight against Skadi. Every move Skadi has, Bjarngrim has an answer for. His own WW and cleave cut down the gauntlet (with his healers keeping him fresh for the main event). He can stoneform out of the poison, and knock Skadi back during his WW.
As awesome as King Dred and Lavanthor are (T-Rexes and Core Hounds are made of win), they are not in the least diminished by losses in TBE.

How did Loken lose?!?! He's the toughest boss in this expansion for players at the appropriate gear level. His mechanics are orginal and creative, and his backstory is elaborate.
Nobody, including spider-man-zombie, inspires more fear! Bring back Teh Zapper!
Sarakin Oct 29th 2009 6:19PM
as far as mechanics go wasn't he just charge up big AoE run away then come back?
Cyanea Oct 29th 2009 6:25PM
In terms of mechanics, Anub'arak requires a lot more strategy and communications than Loken. Your tank has to be quick. Your DPS has to be able to move quickly, and your healer has to keep up with the poisons.
For Loken, you just run away and come back when the big yellow text says to.
thebitterfig Oct 29th 2009 7:01PM
Loken doesn't really belong in TBE. His fight is plain and without player-confounding tricks, so he'll loose a lot even though he has a lot of stature in lore. However, if you look at lore, his really strength isn't fighting, but cheating. If he cheats, it isn't a fair fight for his opponent and that invalidates the TBE rules, but if he isn't allowed to cheat, he isn't able to use his natural abilities, which also violates the TBE rules.
He's awesome, but he just doesn't fit into the competition.

Anub'arak requires what? What poison? It's an easy fight and always has been.
I'm not sure if people are confusing hard mode raid Anub with the 5 man version or something, but the 5 man version requires no particular thought or strategy. If you see mobs, kill them. That's the entire extent of the fight.
Loken is a better boss with a far better backstory.

I never once wiped on Anub'arak 5-player. The fight was boring as both a dps and a healer. The most interesting thing was the buggy wall that would lock players out of the ring if they weren't in it when somebody pulled. Even then you weren't gonna wipe. Also, there's no poison on that fight.
I wiped many times on Loken as both dps and heals, back at the start of WotLK. We had to formulate a strategy and co-ordinate our movements. It took thought and communication. The fight felt far more epic as well, with the throne and the titan model.

Anub is never gonna give you up,
Never gonna let you down,
Never gonna run around and desert you,
Never gonna make you cry,
Never gonna say goodbye,
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.

KING DRED!!!! HOW CAN A T-REX LOSE?
Rexton Oct 29th 2009 6:23PM
Eregos. Seriously. You can't take him down without a drake and some of the competitors would be too big to ride one. I'm looking at you Ormorok and Moragg.

With Apologies to Lemon Demon:
"Old mean Loken was hopping around
Dalaran City like a big playground
When suddenly Jedoga burst from the shade
And hit Loken with a Mind Flay
Loken got mad and charged with his head
But didn't expect to be blocked by Dred
Who proceeded to open up a can of Dred-Fu
When Telestra came out of the blue
And she started casting spells and split into three
But then got smashed by an Omorok tree
He tried to make spikes to kill and gore
But by then Bjarngrim had entered the floor
Who yelled 'I am the greatest of my father's sons'
And used his mighty Whirlwind to kill everyone
But he lost his lightning charge and he ran away
Because Dred turned his adds into lunch today.
This is the Ultimate Showdown, of Ultimate Destiny
Bad guys, bad guys and explosions, as far as the eye can see
And only three will survive, I wonder who they will be
This is the Ultimate Showdown, of two B-E, one B Leave"

Oh man, this is just too good. It is my deepest hope you'll continue as the standing roll in.
