This is so simple to solve, the problem is that the ninja will wait till last to pick "Need" and nobody can do anything about it. You cannot do this with a standard trade because you put up whats available then double confirm.
Its standard practice to ask before needing, how about just making that part of the system. If someone selects "Need", the majority of others in the group have to say yes.

Or you could adjust the system so that as soon as one person rolls need, anyone who has already chosen greed is given the option of re-rolling as need, which would eliminate the possibility of ninjaing entirely I think, because you couldn't gang up to win the item for a guild-member or anything.
