This is it, the end of
Hallow's End. Let's make today's
Breakfast Topic a quick one... how did your Hallow's End go? Were you able to obtain everything you needed? It took me logging on every hour on the hour (alright, on the hour when I remembered it, anyway) to get the
Hallowed Helm which I didn't manage to pick up last year. Along the way, I lined my bags with an assortment of wands, loads of ridiculous masks that
still didn't complete
A Mask for All Occasions, and enough
Tooth Picks to make a family of sharks sparkly clean. I finally got it with forty-something hours to spare, after five straight tricks from
Innkeeper Gryshka.
How did you fare? Did you manage to get The Hallowed title on all your characters? Were you able to beat the
Headless Horseman into coughing up more candy? Did you go around making those emotes just to get treats for those kids? Time's run out on this
World of Warcraft holiday, so share your in-game stories about this past week or so.

That. Bloody. Mount.
Gimmlette Nov 1st 2009 11:16AM
^This.
Last year, one member of my guild got the horse. This year. Nada. And it wasn't like we didn't run it. We were in the instance every single day except for Thursday and Friday of this past week. Saturday, we must have run it a dozen times.
Nix. Nada. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Zilch.
We were encouraged too, because the helm, which had only dropped once, dropped. And finally the sword, which no one had seen, dropped twice.
Can't even say, "I lost the roll" when you don't see the [insert invective] thing.

No kidding. We ran HH everyday with my guildies. An average of +40 summonses a day only saw the mount drop once. Bloody ridiculous. Come on blizz. This is supposed to be a happy fun-time holiday. Can we up the drop rate on that thing or perhaps make it a skill drop? Beat the HH in less than 2min, get the mount perhaps?

164 summons, no mount drop...
I had all achievements and the title from last year, apart from the Mask for all Occasions, got about 5 new masks for that one... Need the last 5 next year, and the mount I suppose.
Bah, WTB RNG love!

Well this years hallows end was really boring for me got everything (even the mount) last year so i only could run for the lvl80 version of the sword so now i only got both and trick or treated every hour for the mask achievement (still about half of the masks short) i wished i could reset the achievements so i could do them again :,(

My pally went DPS with a group. Full summons. 4/5, nothing but net. 5/5 summons....the mount dropped. All went quiet. Every player's eyes and fingers acutely, and ever so carefully, located the loot box in their UI and meticulously selecting the "need" option, and even double checking with as many other senses as possible before the fateful "click" was initiated, rolling each players anticipating dice...
I lost. I lost the roll. I lost the bloody roll.
Mages. Its entirely against the Terms of Service or whatever to play with the fabric of gravity in your favor of a dice roll. Meh. A Mage won (if you hadn't already assumed).
So... I quickly hit up the Mage via whisper, attempting to strike up a deal with him/her.
My offer? "3k gold for the mount". Their reply? "...... (extremely long, anxiety-inducing, anticipation-gauntlet of pause.) ......sure."
My heart leveled up, it started beating so fast. A quick trade later, I became the owner of the Headless Horseman's Reins. I payed for it, where my luck failed me. I know not why the Mage took the offer, but I'm glad they did.

I haven't seen the mount drop since Hallow's End 2007 on any of my characters who regularly hit up the horseman. But as much as I want to pick up that mount for at least one of my characters, that isn't what irks me most this year.
What annoys me is that, for the second year in a row, I haven't got a single toothpick for my hunter. That is the ONLY part of the meta achievement that I haven't done on that character. Even the freaking horseman was nice enough to give my hunter a Squshling and the cloth hat on in a single run this year. But can I get a toothpick? Nope. Most of my other characters have received toothpicks at least once in the last two years. Hell, my bank alt got them several times. But my hunter - the only character close enough to actually get the achievement - can not pick his teeth.

ran HH every single day, 5 summons a day, only saw the mount drop once...on the screen it says that i tied for the highest need roll with another player (i still have the screenshot), but i lost :( i hear WoW rerolls an invisible roll to break a tie but i cry foul anyway. not much to do about it, sadly

I did the summons every day on one toon with the same group of 5 and did not see the mount drop once. I did it every day on my alt with a mostly same group every day and saw it drop once. Totally ridiculous drop rate. I ran it everyday on my main last year and never saw it drop either.
I did the same thing for brewfest; ran it every day on 2 toons and only saw it drop 2x.
Frustrating and annoying.

Got "the Hallowed" title for my main and my new death knight got the plate helm for cackling purposes. Didn't get the mount, but didn't really expect too. All in all it was a very complete experience for me.
offday Nov 1st 2009 10:22AM
Same for me. My DK got the Hallowed title just last night while I finished up collecting the candy in Outland. I also got the sword and the helm and a couple rings. So I think I did pretty well. I never saw the mount drop once, though. But there's always next year.
Bzak Nov 1st 2009 8:07AM
Another year of running HH countless times (read: almost every day) on 2 toons and never seeing the mount drop. I saw plenty in game that other people got, but just never saw one drop on a run I was on. Oh well, there's always next year.
Bryroo Nov 1st 2009 8:10AM
last year my shaman got every acheivement except for sinister calling. i just couldn't get a sinister squashling. this year she finally got her sinister squashling and the title...so i started doing everything with my death knight
as of last night she has everything but a sinister squashling
booo sadistic drop rates, booo
didn't get to see the mount drop at about two dozen runs
jealouspirate Nov 1st 2009 8:14AM
I got the title, which is really all I wanted.
Never saw the mount drop.... which is no biggie for me. I feel like I'm the only person around who doesn't like that mount. My main is a Shaman, and in my head they just don't fit together.
flarkle Nov 1st 2009 8:14AM
My two roommates and our friend used a total of 144 spawns during the two weeks.
1 mount total.
Dreyja Nov 1st 2009 11:45AM
So are people down-voting her just because they are bitter? What is up with that?
I lucked out and got the mount this year. /happydance I also got the sword which I LOVE. It’s roughly equivalent to the fist weapon I was using before then and it’s so much fun.
I wasn’t going for the title due to the pvp constraints. Maybe next year!
Miri Nov 1st 2009 8:18AM
2 Mounts...my old main and new main were happy. All the rings for everyone, including our alts (everyone lvl 70+ got them), everyone who wanted the sword got it, as well as the helm (minus my warrior who wasn't in on the last 3 pulls I healed when it dropped twice).
It's nice when you can multibox the pulls and do something like 14 summons a night :)
Got "the Hallowed" on my new main...just one of many holidays she'll need to do to get the violet proto...
Roy Nov 1st 2009 8:29AM
Hah, so I'm not the only one with two HH mounts. Last year on my ex-main, and this year on my new main.
It should be against the law to be this lucky.
Kylenne Nov 1st 2009 10:30AM
@ Roy: Don't worry, you've just jinxed yourself right out of it. ;)
First rule of Lucky Club: don't talk about Lucky Club.
Starfeather Nov 1st 2009 10:42AM
No way it shouldn't! I had the mount from 1?2 years ago on my main, and got it this year on my other main. Only seen it drop twice and lucked out w/ the dice both times
