WoW Moviewatch: Ravenholdt Labyrinth (Interactive WoW Adventure)

A small crew of machinima creators and artists have stepped up their gamed and delivered something truly new to the World of Warcraft fan video scene. Check out the Ravenholdt Labyrinth (Interactive WoW Adventure).
This isn't a single video. Instead, using the interactive linking annotation feature in YouTube, the creators have made a sort of "Choose your own adventure" adventure using WoW machinima. Depending on your choices, you can navigate Gigi further into Ravenholdt to discover the mystery . . . or get her killed. You make the choices as you proceed.
This is the first machinima of this kind that I've seen, and my hat's off to Gigi, RedEye, Dan, WoPairs, and Abandonation for opening the doors to a new style of machinima. It would be awesome to see them do more like this, since I think it really broadens the scope of experience offered by machinima.
The overall style of this video is suited to Halloween. It's moody and spooky. The creep factor gets higher as you take Gigi further into the labyrinth. This is a really great job by everyone involved. My hat is off to the creators.

Actually, I've seen this type of thing on Youtube once before. An Australian guy who goes by Angry Aussie did this once.

Yeah this mechanic on Youtube isn't new, but this seems to be the first machinima in this style.

It also slightly takes away from the atmosphere when they directly copied the music from the little girl in the fantastic Buffy episode 'Hush':

Scary little girl. Oddly enough, they left out the creepiest part of all: "Can't call to mom, can't say a word, you're gonna die screaming but you won't be heard." Man, little kids can be creepy.

Yes, the copied the little girl from the "Hush" episode of Buffy (One of the best episodes - must see), and they copied the entire concept/ending from the "1408" movie.
Still. This was very well made, effective "scares" and good quality video and sound.

Sounds cool and the very movie is made very nicely. Can't find any clips beyond the beggining yet so.. . Intro also kinda reminded me of an movie called 1408 in which somebody cause to a room in which the clock then starts to behave weird aswell and he has to endure one hour of hellish events again and again untill he commites suicide. Or as he does burn the room. anyways getting off track^^

The trick (non-obvious) is to click one of those hollow boxes before the end of the video. Mouse over them and you'll see short descriptions of your choices.

That was so cool!! I was actually pretty damn scared with all those things that kept appearing. Cool music too :D very nice, hopefully more vids like this will appear =O

The concept is cool, and it's really well animated, HOWEVER.
The first and only thing I did was try to get Gigi killed, then quit. >.> I hate her videos and her voice makes me want to jam rusty nails into my ears. I wish they would have gotten someone else. I just *don't* like her. :/

Oh I liked her. What other stuff has she done that has turned you so much against her? I thought her voice sounded much more authentic than the dude in the bonus video after you "win".

Her music, mostly. I don't like it. I'm not normally vocal about it - like I don't spam her videos(mostly I just don't watch them). Yanno how sometimes someone's voice just... annoys you? No real rhyme or reason why, but you'd rather them shut up than continue talking? That's how Gigi is to me.
Then again, I dunno if it's her voice, or the fact that most of her music makes her sound full of herself. :/

That was super-duper. Very impressed. Good job all involved!
Although the ending didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I won't spoil it, I just didn't understand how she came to the conclusion that she came to and why it worked. Maybe it's just me *shrug*
