No sequel planned for The Craft of War: BLIND
The bad news is that Percula recently updated the video's YouTube description to let everyone know that no, a sequel is not planned for the video. He says that he was laid off earlier in the year and had to quit WoW to focus on finding a job, and in the time since, his interest in the game has waned. That's the bad news!
The good news is that he still plans on making other animated videos, just likely not WoW-based ones. And for those interested in seeing what he's come up with between the release of BLIND and now, he says to look for upcoming Id Software releases, which he had a hand in.
Too bad about the discontinuation of the series, but at least this means that we won't get a hojillion tipline emails for BLIND II, right? A boy can dream.

Boo! Give this guy a job so he can make a sequel, President Obama. He can be your Machinima Czar.
Kevin Nov 3rd 2009 5:01PM
someone give this man (woman?) a comment of the day award.
Starlin Nov 3rd 2009 5:26PM
The Blizzard cinematics team needs to hire this guy!

I'm a sad dwarf now. =(

Today the internets died a little.
I weep for the future!
Returna Nov 3rd 2009 3:09PM
I watch this video every so often.
It's sad that he's not doing another because this is probably the best piece of machinima.
Bubsa Nov 3rd 2009 4:19PM
It's good, but it's no Tales of the Past
donz Nov 3rd 2009 6:32PM
you're kidding right? tales of the past had a laughably bad storyline and no where near the same kind of animation quality. i was half expecting some "its over 9000!" during the big final battle thing.

/cry
That's all I can say...
Brackenhawk Nov 3rd 2009 3:09PM
Nice coincidence, a friend linked this to me just yesterday. The custom animations are mind-blowing :)
Stone_Rhino Nov 3rd 2009 3:17PM
Thats too bad. It was really well done.
But at least he has some free time between jobs. Maybe he can help the makers of Tales of the Past parts 4 through infinity have something more than just DBZ style fight sequences?
Lemons Nov 3rd 2009 3:18PM
That's essentially the same thing Nyhm said and then he came back. Just because he has no plans currently to make BLIND 2 (or any other Warcraft machinima) doesn't mean he won't.
Batleth Nov 3rd 2009 3:31PM
That's a damn shame. BLIND is easily one of the best machinima films I've ever seen. I hope someone with at least some degree of the talent that Percula steps up and continues the series of class based films.

THIS again? Good lord, let it die.
Ed Nov 3rd 2009 4:48PM
Seconded.
Whatever acclaim the animation quality has received should be getting canceled out by the blood elf and horrible music.
Let it die.

You both ride Harley Davidson's around town, ruining everyone's nice time, don't you?
I thought so.
WootZoot Nov 3rd 2009 3:47PM
Blizz should give this guy a job making ingame cutscenes. Everyone wins.
kalebmcc Nov 4th 2009 5:33PM
Here's another 'everyone wins' situation: Blizz hires this guy as an animator! Seriously, the animation of the models here is beautiful, and Percula has a real talent for it. I'd love it if my character had more animations, and I'm sure everyone wants ones that don't clip so much.
Raz Nov 5th 2009 3:14AM
Hire him, and maybe that "dance studio" we were supposed to get could be put in during the expansion it was publicized for :p

I don't know how I never knew about this video, but i'm glad WoWInsider reposted it. I wanted to see the HD version, so I looked it up on Vimeo. Apparently the original account was deleted along with more than a thousand often informative comments. Percula has reposted, though, at http://www.vimeo.com/5241163.
I mostly play a moonkin now, but after nearly two years of playing a subtlety rogue as my main I especially enjoyed this video. While Percula may have no plans for a sequel, I would love to see anything else s/he produces. I don't know if Percula has had formal training in filmography, but it certainly looks like it given the quality and skill demonstrated.
