Patch 3.3 PTR: Meeting Stones for all

Great news for players of all classes and levels (well, levels above 15)! In the latest official patch notes update for the Patch 3.3 PTR, Blizzard added the following line:
Meeting Stones: To use any Meeting Stone, it is only required that the character's minimum level be 15. There is no maximum character level requirement for any Meeting Stone.
Now that's a change that's been a long time coming. Ever tried to get your level 80 guildie to Deadmines to help you carve a bloody swath straight to Van Cleef? It's a pain! Ever tried to get your lowbie to a high-level zone without a portal? Also a pain! This completely removes the restrictions on using or activating summoning stones so long as you're above level 15.
Now you'll be able to bring whoever you want to any dungeon summoning stone with just two people. A fantastic quality-of-life change, very likely added to ensure that interest in rerolling remains steady until Cataclysm comes out, but who cares? I'll take it! Who wants to run me through ZF?

Of course they do this after Hallow's End

Uhg, so much this. Take port to shatt, take port to IQD, fly to chillwind, ride to SM, pull all of cath @ once while waiting for the rest of the group...

This wouldn't have made much of a difference for me, as I was usually one of the first two up at SM anyway. But at the same time, it does smart a little bit in the aftermath of daily journeys to Scarlet Monastery. That being said, I'm still glad to see this change.
Psst. It's slower to go through Shatt to IQD to Chillwind than it is from Ironforge to Chillwind. Try it. I timed it the first night I went, it was about two minutes longer flight-wise. Now, if you're going to the EPL flight point, that's another matter entirely. But I digress.

That is exactly what I said.

Or be a DK, Death Gate and take a 3minute flightpath to WP :)
win!

As Alliance I would take my flying mount, go and land on top of the Zeppelin in Howling Fjord and jump off when it arrived outside UC. Considerably faster than all of that teleporting, riding and flying.

If you are Alliance i found IF to Chillwind quicker than IGD to Chillwind!

Actually I think this would have made things worse for Headless Horseman. Everyone seems to get lazy as heck when they think that "someone else" will make the trip to the summon stone for them.
I actually noticed this year that everyone got to SM really fast. I doubt that would have been the case if 4 of them would have sat around waiting for summons.
LostOne Nov 4th 2009 11:44AM
Agreed, this would have been great for Hallow's End. Also it would be nice if they'd have made a device to transport you there faster like they did for the remote control for Direbrew.

Those stones in Orgrim and SW are going to become useful :)

Exactly what I was thinking.

"Who wants to run me through ZF?"
I don't even run my guildies through ZF. They beg and they beg. When I was your age I leveled my toons by myself without heirlooms or boosting.
Oh, and get off my lawn!

I see that message so much it makes me want to scream. I am about to send a very angry message to said person when I realize that hardly anybody runs that place anymore. I delete the message and move on. I then see several more and think "why aren't these people grouping together?" I once again write an angry message to said peoples when I realize that they do not have enough for a group, I delete said message and move on.
Rinse and repeat. Eventually I will burst so big that the shockwave will break down the walls of Icecrown and that Arthas will trip and stab himself with Frostmourne. Game over.

I know what you're sayin! Back in my day I ran ZF as much as I could, I fought off dozens of rogues, warriors, and other pallies just to get one half of Zul'thraze (I made love to all the people in my party when I finally got it too, they were happy).
And you know what? All that heat and sand is definitely not good for my bloodelf's complexion and skin, all that heavy army can lead to dehydration, and god, you know how sand can get into anything...
Nowadays you young folk just get an 80 to run through and moon them all to death!

When I was leveling my Shadow Priest to 80, she ran one instance below level 59: Zul'Farrak. I just happened to be in Tanaris killing pirates when someone was putting together a group. We didn't quite complete everything, but we took down most of the bosses. In Outland, it was easy to find a Ramps group and she was actually recruited into running Durnholde and Mana-Tombs. In Northrend, Nexus and Utgarde Keep were pretty easy to find.

ZF is probably one of the easiest instances to get a group for too. Apparently I was one of the few tanks around at these levels (leveled as prot) so I got pestered continuously. After about 3 runs I just acted like I was afk because I got sick of getting turned into a frog every 5 seconds. Seriously, get a druid.

Great, yet another Warlock nerf! BLIZZARD HATES WARLOCKS!
Psiwave Nov 3rd 2009 7:57PM
As a warlock I consider this a buff to my sanity.
Fairlane Nov 3rd 2009 7:45PM
Suck it, warlocks.
kia Nov 3rd 2009 9:26PM
This warlock says... yay.
I don't regard summoning as a core aspect of my class. I'd happily remove the spell entirely.
