Print Warcraft opens its doors

While we've been having a bit difficulty accessing the site, likely due to launch-day growing pains, we know that the service allows a ton of customization options. Start by selecting your character, realm, and print size. Then choose from a number of templates, borders, backgrounds, character poses, pets, and more! The prices range from $17.99 for a 12x18 print to $29.99 USD for a 40x27 poster.
If you're actually able to place an order, please let us know how it comes out when you get it in the mail! If the price is right and so is the quality, it might be a decent Winter Veil gift to deck somebody's walls with. Or yours.

Looks cool, Just got the Felheart horns on my lock, could be fun.

I can do this myself with Photoshop. I can trick it out even more in Corel Painter 11

I don't know why this guy was getting voted down. Any person who spends 4 minutes with WoW ModelViewer and an image editing program (I use either Paint.net or GIMP 2) can at least make the images. It's just the truth. You don't even have to be an artist. And as many options as Im sure they have, you can probably (as the guy im replying to said) trick it out even more.
I'm sure getting them printed won't be hard either. I'm certain it would be cheaper to make it yourself and go to a printing store.
This isn't like FigurePrints where you're most likely not going to be able to make the figures...

Unfortunatly, unless you have an over sized printer at home, many professional print places refuse to print copywritten material that you do not hold the copyright to, for legal reasons.

Interesting, I wonder what happened to "Wyndforge" then, since he did similar prints. Maybe he got a cease and desist letter from Blizzard's lawyers? His website is currently down. Does anybody have some info about this?

I was just looking at the pictures and laughing at their quality.
How on earth are the lisenced!?

I don't know, I keep on getting sent to the Launch screen =/
Do they send an Email that then sends you to order?
Arras Nov 3rd 2009 5:19PM
yeah, I just get bounced to the 'coming soon' page too. They're either not really ready for prime time or the site's overloaded and is default back to the launch page

This sites been janky ever since Blizz announced it. I haven't been able to even get in half the time and the other half none of their links work.
They need to get their act together (shakes grandma finger)

This is a nice option for those of us unwilling to shell out the cash for a figure print. Definitely worth exploring.
Marconia Nov 3rd 2009 5:19PM
It's a shame that the site hasn't worked or has been INCREDIBLY slow all day long.
Heh, now that I reload the site, it's back to "coming soon" status.

I got one of these at Blizzcon. I really like it. The one issue i had with it is that I wanted to put my character in front of a big "blizzcon" icon. It wouldn't let me and the guy working the booth said Blizzard requested that if their logo was put on it it HAD to be in the front.
It was fairly easy to use. Even though at blizzcon it seemed kind of slow. Plus the line of people I felt bad and tried to hurry. Overall I am pleased with mine and might get another one.

Yeah, I picked one up at BlizzCon, too... Came to my house about a week later... It looks awesome and the paper quality is a bit bette than normal posters... I placed the BlizzCon logo in the lower-right corner, just to have it on there... Defiantly worth it if you don't have the cash to shell out for a FigurePrint... I'm very happy with mine...
Todd Nov 3rd 2009 5:27PM
Yeah... the site looks like it went down and will "Be Launching" soon.
Tori Nov 3rd 2009 5:30PM
I think I'll definitely be interested in this, but at the moment the site is just giving me the 'Coming Soon' page.
I really want to take a look at the options and everything, hopefully it will be up soon.

Boooo, I got so excited when I saw this was up! I managed to register an account on the site, but it's back down again ;__;
From the thumbnails I've seen, these look like they could be pretty kick ass. I'm planning on getting posters of me and my hubby's characters to hang framed in our house as fabulous nerd art; preferably somewhere terribly offensive like the front entryway or over the kitchen table.
I hope the site is up soon D:

I'm hoping they come out with a hybrid of this and the guild t-shirt. I'm wanting to purchase a guild t-shirt as a winter veil gift from swagdog, but It needs more than just the banner. A screen printing of one of these on the reverse would be awesome!

Between school and various workplaces, most people have access to good printers (although they don't always realize that they do) and while WoWModelViewer's quasi-supported status has been a problem if you've got bleeding edge gear added since the last time some good Samaritan updated the software, Print Warcraft is really charging for the convenience, not some sort of exclusive product.
That said, $30 for the convenience is well worth it to some folks.
TheZantoo Nov 3rd 2009 11:18PM
With how often gear changes on toons, with upgrades and what not I don't see this being worth it for mains. My rogue has been retired for awhile now. He just sits in Stormwind next to the AH in full Nightslayer set and Maladath, Iblis for aesthetics. That'd be kinda cool I guess, but 30 bucks for a poster? I'll pass.
Shade Nov 3rd 2009 6:17PM
I think I'll stick with photoshop manips and if I want a poster, I'll upload an image and have it printed via Kinko's.
