Some bright (and quick) EU players bought from US site and still got the pet. That lasted a day until blizz changed the codes and made them region specific thereby ensureing their extra 50% profit from EU players.

Somehow I think if this was the other way around the same outcome would not have happened. This isn't the first time EU players have come second best to US players.
