Patch 3.3 PTR: Sound files may reveal fate of the Lich King

No, seriously. It has so many spoilers that unsuspecting players can explode just by clicking on the Read More link below. It's that dangerous. The sound files are so revealing, so incriminating, that every agent sent by SI:7 to safeguard them has been removed from active duty and sent to the loony bin. They're so volatile that even Ragnaros got burned when he read the rest of this post. So juicy that it cost Lady Vashj an arm and a leg -- or six arms and a tail -- just to listen to them.
The sound files in question are mined from the goings-on in Icecrown, which may (or may not) reveal the ultimate fate of the Lich King. It also includes previously unrevealed first names of only sons, emotional moments from hot mages, uncharacteristic coolness from leaders heretofore labeled as hate-mongering and racist, and unexpected appearances by heroes long dead (but not forgotten). Click on the link for madness-inducing spoilers. Otherwise that lady by your side will whisper something in your ear and you'll go crazy, anyway. Might as well have WoW.com do it for you.
Patch 3.3 is the last major patch of Wrath of the Lich King. With the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man dungeons and 10/25-man raid arriving soon, patch 3.3 will deal the final blow to the Arthas. WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.3 will keep you updated with all the latest patch news. Here's Deathbringer Saurfang in some reverse Darth Vader monologue...
More Deathbringer channeling Darth Vader again...
Here's the clip that should get all the Varian Wrynn fans feeling good about themselves for cheering on a major
Here's the part where the Alliance charge into Icecrown and Jaina goes all gushy and sentimental. Thrall should listen to this one.
On the flip side, we've got the Horde barging in with Lady Sylvanas. Click play to see what happens to her.
The transcript of all the datamined Icecrown sound files can be found here.
If you were crazy enough to click on the link... or crazy enough to have listened to all clips and read the transcript, then you're crazy enough to buzz along with the rest of us crazies. There must always be a Lich King... so who will be next? Jaina still holds a flame for Arthas! And tears up at Varian's nobility! Boy, this woman gets around. What else? Oh, how can I forget... cancer is cured. Because Saurfang. Freaking. Cries.

Evelinda Nov 6th 2009 10:04AM
to be fair, voice actors DO tend to perform multiple roles on animated shows, for example... so i guess it shouldnt be surprising if they do it in games too

I was a sexy 16 year old, you know like all the other sexy 16 year olds that bought the Warcraft 3 special edition and played it over a weekend by themselves.
(they were simpsons boxers, which I still have)
Mr. Tastix Nov 4th 2009 6:06PM
Hey, better in his underwear than in NOTHING.
I'll let you think about that one.
loreaddict Nov 4th 2009 8:39PM
If they don't make a cinematic of Uther dragging Arthas's sorry ass to his "special place in hell", I'll storm Blizz Headquarters with an angry mob... of mutants!... Undead mutants!... wielding pitchforks and torches!... ON FIRE!!
All this wile a giant loudspeaker plays "Never Gonna Give You Up", “Bye, Bye, Bye”, “Barbie Girl”, “You’re Beautiful” and “My Humps” AT THE SAME TIME!
Shawn Nov 4th 2009 5:05PM
Your fanboyism is nothing less then vomit inducing. You praise Saurfang, then bash Varian.
Can we get less of a biased person to report stuff, please?
raingod Nov 4th 2009 5:09PM
But Varian IS an asshat.
Shawn Nov 4th 2009 5:11PM
Opinion = Fact?
Holy crap.
raingod Nov 4th 2009 5:14PM
Last I checked, this was a gaming site, not CNN, get over it.
Draelan Nov 4th 2009 5:16PM
There's nothing wrong with praising Saurfang. Whether you're horde or alliance, you truly have to respect the guy. Although I agree, the hatred of Varian Wyrnn is ridiculous. This just shows that he's not a blind, hate-mongering racist like some people like to say he is. He may let his anger get the better of him at times (especially when Garrosh is around to provoke him) but he's not always unreasonable. Not saying people have to LIKE him, or that he's a level-headed individual, but is it so hard to realize that he's not as bad as they seem to think? (Unlike Garrosh, who's a poorly developed character with no reason behind his hatred. At. All.)
Alanid Nov 4th 2009 5:16PM
Varian and Saurfang are BOTH good characters. Now... who wants pie?
MazokuRanma Nov 4th 2009 5:19PM
There's no such thing as unbiased reporting.
Jack Miles Nov 4th 2009 5:20PM
A, this is a blog. And B, did you really click on this to see a report on the sound files? Or just to watch them?
Reuben Nov 4th 2009 5:24PM
Are you ACTUALLY bitching about the opinion of a blogger concerning two fictional characters?
You want someone unbiased?
I can't believe this shit.
Nick Nov 4th 2009 5:38PM
You're complaining about journalistic bias on a blog about a GAME.
Forgive me if that doesn't even register a blip on my Shit-that-actually-matters-ometer.
