Patch 3.3: Stone Keeper's Shards tied to your realm

What happens with Stone Keeper's Shards when you're in a PUG that takes advantage of cross-server LFG? Well, that's easy, kiddo. The system will check to see if your home realm's Wintergrasp is captured by your faction. If it is, voila! Stone Keeper's Shards for you. If not, well, you can figure it out.
As for everyone else in the group, the same check is made, and if someone else doesn't have WG captured on their server and you do, they won't even see the Shards on the corpse, so no "Hey, what about MY shards?!" loot confusion should come up. If it does, well, you'll probably never see that person again anyway, so say what you must! Just bear in mind that parties in patch 3.3 do have that new Vote Kick option.
Patch 3.3 is the last major patch of Wrath of the Lich King. With the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man dungeons and 10/25-man raid arriving soon, patch 3.3 will deal the final blow to the Arthas. WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.3 will keep you updated with all the latest patch news.Filed under: News items, Instances

Does anyone know how the daily heroic works? Does everyone in the same battlegroup get the same heroic on the same day? If I'm looking for a group one day will i find that there's loads in the battlegroup that need the same instance or is the daily heroic random for each individual realm?
Aceman67 Nov 4th 2009 8:18PM
The daily heroic is going to be changed to a daily random dungeon run.
Dazaras Nov 4th 2009 9:06PM
Yup. Except for the "daily" part. I believe you can do them as many times as you want.
Boobah Nov 4th 2009 10:01PM
Every time you finish a random dungeon, you get two extra emblems. The first one that day rewards the new frost emblems, and the subsequent ones will reward the same triumph badges the bosses will be dropping.

I can't stand vote kick systems. This is going to be abused so much.
rosencratz Nov 5th 2009 7:10AM
Agerath - So?
I'd bet it will be abused far far less than it will come in useful for disconnects and poor behaviour.. If your pugging and getting kicked from a group for no good reason then you have atleast escaped a group of clearly bad people to pug with, join another group and have fun.
Either that or just do the random daily heroic with friends if you're that paranoid...

"I can't stand vote kick systems."
You have to have four people agree to kick someone. If they aren't pulling their weight, and everyone else agrees, why not kick them? I personally won't vote yes unless they are actually making it difficult to finish, like wiping the party repeatedly.
Suzushiro Nov 5th 2009 9:28AM
Honestly, I think the vote kick system will help improve the quality of players, since today if you have a bad in your group you just keep carrying them because it's too much of a pain in the ass to find a replacement for it to be worth the effort unless he's *really* screwing you over. With the new LFG you can just kick him and a new guy will come in fairly quickly. Getting chain-booted from groups because you can barely pull 500DPS in full epics will go a long way towards getting players to l2p.

groovy.
CagedKnight Nov 4th 2009 11:53PM
Unless you are on a realm like mine, where the population is so unbalanced that one faction has WG 90% of the time. But whatever, sour grapes, I suppose.
Moy Nov 4th 2009 8:18PM
There are no dailys after 3.3 drops
eenersumbrella Nov 5th 2009 7:26AM
Not true. The heroic daily quest giver now gives out a weekly raid quest that awards more emblems than the old standard. I can't remember how many though exactly.
kooda Nov 5th 2009 10:57AM
Wow... you should probably rephrase that because im pretty sure most fishing/cooking/jewelcrafting dailies are staying
devilsei Nov 4th 2009 8:23PM
Does anyone even use stone shards anymore? I mean at first yeah they were nice, but after the mount, there's nothing to really spend them on.
drocket Nov 4th 2009 8:29PM
Nothing to spend them on? Just buy the heirloom honor tokens and turn them into honor. You can then use the honor either to buy PVP equipment or else epic gems. 150 tokens = 5 Wintergrasp Commendations = 10,000 honor = 1 epic gems. Which generally equals about 150 gold (though prices are dropping.) Considering you're getting them for free when you're doing something else anyway, its a pretty sweet deal.
AngelfishTitan Nov 4th 2009 8:37PM
I actually use them to get the honor items, which I then use to buy epic gems to sell. It ain't huge money, but its a nice profit on the side.
RogueJedi86 Nov 4th 2009 8:23PM
So realm-specific buffs stay realm-specific? By that I mean the Essence of Wintergrasp buff.

This reminds me of a person I heard of years ago...
This party was running an instance, and they had some a player with them. They also had a warlock who kept using Drain Soul (to refill their bag, or whatever). Well, after a couple boss fights where this happened, one of the newer players spoke up and was like, "Dude, stop ninjaing all the soul shards!!!"
Needless to say, much hilarity ensued.
Sargenus Nov 4th 2009 8:57PM
This happened to me once. Except the person that called it out was an 80 Hunter... and was leader.
Me being kicked out of the heroic followed. >.
