Updatedx3: Urgent maintenance complete

Blizzard has announced that they are conducting urgent maintenance on several realms. The list of affected realms is after the break (which includes Zangarmarsh, the It came from the Blog server).
We will keep you informed as the status changes.
3:25 p.m. PST: All realms are (supposedly) online and playable.
Update 3 p.m. PST: More info at 3:30 PST.

It's pretty strong on the forums right now and it's pretty understandable.

GREAT! I wonder what fabulous clusterfunk awaits me upon logging in later this evening. These "urgent" deals are always a bit frightening... makes me wish I had cleaned out my mailboxes :(

Aww man! Just when they fixed the crazy lag spiking servers.....this happens.
I kinda wish sometimes we'd get more technical information...even tho most of it would go over my head I'd find that kind of information fascinating.
I can only imagine the issues that must arise from running such a massive game. O_O

I'm pretty sure that tweet you link to has nothing to do with realm maintenance. As you can see, they said that they were doing maintenance for "Account Management" which is when you login to manage your account WorldofWarcraft.com or Battle.net.
The forum post you linked to is definitely referencing the emergency server maintenance, but the tweet is quite obviously referring to something completely different.

Figures. On my server, Onyxia, we were having all sorts of lag issues. Had someone in the guild drown due to lag even though she was standing on the shore outside the water. Also had numerous people stuck in instances and zoning out about 10 minutes later. Hopefully they get this fixed in time for raid time. :/

I hope this fixes the lag issues.... my entire party lagged out just after killing last boss for heroic daily.

I'm actually glad about this. I just upgraded my drivers, and started having big issues today. Glad it's not just me.

They need to fix Moon Guard too. And Dalaran. And Northrend. It's ALL laggy. The lag never ends. MY computer loads the continent so fast that half the cities don't show up fully loaded, and wicked lag ensues, usually shutting my game down.
They NEED to address the issues involving glitches, lag, etc before doing any sort of maintenance OTHER than those addressed topics.
So what's the problem today? Why the "Urgent" fix?
