Hopefully they'll fix the issue with Anub'arak's spikes randomly switching targets mid kite. I want my tribute to insanity dammit!
AeroRising Nov 4th 2009 3:49PM
this is rediculous they get $15 a month and still have to do maintenance every week and have random things like this often and for me saying we are investigating the issues and are working on a resolution and will update you at 1:30 pst does not cut it I want to know how big it is what it is how long it could be down for so maybe the estimate will be wrong but atleast give us some sort of idea.

Yeah, playing the hour and a half before shutdown was fun on these servers. On AM you would click something (for example turning in a quest, using an item, selling an item) and about 5 minutes later you could see the effect. I also managed to drown while nowhere near the water. Great part was that even though I drowned, I only had to run back to that spot on land to rez.

WOW, brought to you by the good people at TMobile...

I lagged so much, that when I returned to enter HVH after a wipe before the last boss, I was frozen for 5 mins, and upon being unfrozen, I popped into the middle of the last boss fight at break neck speed lol.
Hope Terokkar gets back up soon!

On ghostlands just before the servers went down, I would click on an item after looting and it would literally take 30 sec for it to acknowledge that it had been looted. Same with casting and opening spell or mounting up. I could still move around during this time, but there was major delay in looting.

oh wow another update saying we'll update you in an hour what kind of crud is this just give us a real update already sure I could play on another server and start at level 1 and not be able to play either of my over lvl 50 accounts still this is my afternoon off work and i get this crud when I could be working to pay the $15 blizzard asks to have servers that go down all the time
Kurash Nov 4th 2009 4:39PM
oh wow make sure that when you post a comment and want to complain about something that you use no punctuation or capitalization whatsoever so that your post is both difficult to read and doesn't make your point seem particularly well thought out or helpful that will definitely cause blizzard to rethink how they handle their emergency maintenance which they do for your benefit anyway
AeroRising Nov 4th 2009 4:51PM
It is one of only 2 afternoons a week I don't have to work after school and all I want to do is come home and play but then they pull this crud. WOW is expensive $15 a month is quite a bit, the most I've ever seen a game cost like this. You would think with all that money they would have servers that don't go down all the time and it wouldn't be nearly as bad if they would stop saying we'll update in an hour and then saying they will update in another hour when they post the first update.
Kurash Nov 4th 2009 5:01PM
@aerorising
It's not that I'm not frustrated too -- I'd rather be playing at the moment myself. But keep in mind that that hard-earned $15 a month that we all spend on our subscriptions is not something that Blizzard would treat like some trivial contribution.
The maintenance of dozens of servers for the purpose of connecting millions of subscribers is an immensely complicated process. I am absolutely certain that they take issues like this seriously and react as quickly as they can.
I try to be as understanding as possible when things like this happen. Patience is what is necessary here, as well as remembering that they did not pick this specific day to have issues occur just so they could ruin your afternoon plans.
AeroRising Nov 4th 2009 5:25PM
I would be fine if they would just tell us what's going on I just saw a bunch of servers that were offline suddenly drop off the list of realms to select from but I have no idea what that means. The only thing they have said since this started is we'll tell you in an hour all I want is blizzard to say ok we think it will take between this many and this many hours and or we are having this issue with the realm and we will provide updates as we find out more. Right now it's just saying yea we know it's down in an hour we might tell you or we may say wait another hour.
Bob Nov 4th 2009 5:49PM
You know that you do get compensated when this happens right? Every time my server has gone down, I get a free day of game play, you see, I used to billed on the 14th of every month, but now, I get billed on the 5th of every month, I guess that will now get pushed another day, so I will e billed on the 6th of every month. I am also sure that Blizzard called you to ask if you were off today and then said, "He is off work today, let's bugger up his game time and put the servers down for a while..." Blizzard does not work around your schedule, they work by theirs. This was probably not even planned, and yes there has been major lag on the servers lately, I am on Azuremyst and it is a fairly populated server and is laggy at peak times. Maybe they've so many complaints about the lag lately they decided to fix that lagging now before patch 3.3 drops so we can all enjoy the patch lag free, that would be in a dream world, but hey, I like to dream once in a while and have fun with it...just a word of advice, stop QQing about it, it's not gonna make a difference, it just makes you look like a cry baby...
Eric Nov 4th 2009 4:26PM
I remember questing and PvP and then server shutdown... No issues on Haomarush that I was privy to.
Swarfy Nov 4th 2009 4:37PM
@ AeroRising
You obviously were never around at launch when the servers would go down for DAYS at a time.
Yes, they make 15 dollars a month off each of the US subscribers (subscription rates aren't the same all over the world), but you know how much their electric and internet bills are much less the rent for leasing out data centers for the servers to sit at? their Server management for that ALONE is probably in the millions of dollars.
If you don't like the downtime go to your account management, cancel your subscription and go play a free MMO. I doubt you will find any other company that offers them that is as clean as WoW is being kept.
AeroRising Nov 4th 2009 4:54PM
Fair enough but it's the not telling any of us what's going on that makes me angry saying we'll update in another hour is not an update it's just stupid. I could go play a free game but I don't to avoid these kind of things they already have weekly downtime and then have more downtime and won't even give us any estimate on time.
Noid Nov 4th 2009 4:48PM
wheres the next update?!?!?! i want my realm up!!!
Killer Nov 4th 2009 4:49PM
Battle.net says my account is frozen yet I can log into the game and I am paid in full. I assume after seeing this post that Blizzard has screwed the pooch yet again.
Max Nov 4th 2009 4:59PM
ysondre was fine before update.
Stouph Nov 4th 2009 4:55PM
Wow... Arygos my Ally server and Area 52 my Horde server are both down at the same time! That never happens!!! Arggh!! :(
Noid Nov 4th 2009 4:59PM
